Wow. With its opening montage of a troubled child growing into a disturbed man, the FX series Legion states its intention of blowing your mind with its visual mastery and challenging your ability to keep up with the tricky narrative.
The fantasy that fuels so many stories, from The Ugly Duckling to Harry Potter, is that misfits are literally mis-fit and that their strengths can be appreciated only when they're with their own. Legion feeds that fantasy and challenges it.
Marvel's moviemakers should be jealous: Just when they thought they were making something TV couldn't top, Legion comes along and sets the bar even higher.

Legion is raw and stunning, and should be at the top of everyone's watchlist.
