Rubber bands have some fantastic qualities -- they’re stretchy, and make great balls and weapons. Sadly, that’s where it ends...at least in the archival world.
Yep, we’re starting this series off with rubber band advice. It may seem ultra-boring, but in reality, rubber bands are ultra-destructive. (Of course, not nuclear-bomb-destructive, but destructive enough.)
That fresh, colorful rubber band you've used has kept a bunch of CDs, tapes, or papers together, but eventually it will get sticky. Then it’ll get dry. In the end, it’ll look like this:
Now, walk over to your desk drawer where you keep all of your office supplies and throw all of your rubber bands away. We’ll wait.
