SCHUTZHUND
Schutzhund is one of the oldest and most popular dog sports, consisting of three phases: tracking, obedience and protection. The protection phase is easily one of the most exciting and demanding tests of a dog’s drives and instincts, and his handler’s ability to control him.
Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned pro, we can help develop you and your dog into a winning team. As New England’s first Certified Teaching Helper, Mike Pinksten’s specialty is bringing your dog’s bitework to its fullest potential.
Historically, Mike’s record speaks for itself. During his tenure as Training Director of O.G. Boston Schutzhund Club, the club boasted the highest number of “V” scores (96-100 points) in Protection in the region. Many of the top regional and national competitors worked with Mike, fine tuning their dogs’ protection work for the big trials that they entered, where they often ended up on the podium.
Today, Mike’s world class training and coaching is available to serious students of the sport, whether it’s to start a pup, evaluate and train a young adult prospect, or even work with your club’s helper to solve any problems your dog has in the protection phase.
Attention show dog breeders: we offer preparation for breed surveys and the protection test at the Sieger show. If you have a top quality conformation German Shepherd, we’ll help you make sure that he works as good as he looks! Remember, when it comes to the judge, “there is no second first impression”.
