HOLIDAY TRAFFIC ENFORCMENT

As part of the nationwide I-40 challenge, the Arizona Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol Division is joining a number of other states in making sure motorists using Interstate 40 this Thanksgiving holiday travel week get to their destinations safely. Troopers will also be present along all of Arizona’s major highways in an effort to keep travelers safe.

  • Troopers will be visible along I-40 every twenty miles from the California to New Mexico border as part of the I-40 zero fatality challenge.
  • Additional Troopers will be visible from Northern to Central Arizona enforcing the speed limit along Interstate 17 as part of the “Safety Corridor”
  • Troopers from Central Arizona and Southern Arizona will be targeting Interstate 10 from Phoenix Tucson looking for speeders, aggressive and impaired drivers.
  • Troopers in Eastern Arizona will be assigned speed enforcement details along State Route 87 from Fountain Hills to Interstate 40

 

In addition, DPS troopers will be part of the West Valley DUI Task Force on November 26th, 2016 along with an East Valley DUI task force on November 25th and 26th. Troopers in Pinal County will also take part in a DUI task Force on November 25th and 26th. In Southeastern Arizona, DPS will participate in a Southeastern DUI Task Force out of Sierra Vista.

In Southern Arizona, DPS will host a focused DUI Task Force on November 23rd, November 25th and November 26th.

In Southwestern Arizona, Troopers will take part in a Speed/Collision reduction detail on November 23rd along Interstate 8.
