'Riverbanks collapse after Oroville Dam spillway shut off'
"…The quick draw-down of water also left chinook salmon and steelhead struggling to survive in isolated pools and puddles on the river’s edge. The fish, which migrate to the Pacific Ocean, were trapped as the main stem of the river swiftly shrunk.
Biologists and staff from the state Department of Fish and Wildlife and the Department of Water Resources have been mucking through the muddy shores in an extensive rescue effort that continued Friday.
Between Tuesday and Thursday, crews saved close to 1,900 trapped salmon and steelhead, including more than 1,700 juvenile fall-run chinook salmon, plus 1,500 to 2,000 fish of other species…"

"The 2017 forecast decreased compared to last year because fewer felt earthquakes occurred in 2016 than in 2015. This may be due to a decrease in wastewater injection resulting from regulatory actions and/or from a decrease in oil and gas production due to lower prices.
"Despite the decrease in the overall number of earthquakes in 2016, Oklahoma experienced the largest earthquake ever recorded in the state as well as the greatest number of large earthquakes compared to any prior year. Furthermore, the chance of damage from induced earthquakes will continue to fluctuate depending on policy and industry decisions, Petersen noted.
"The forecast for induced and natural earthquakes in 2017 is hundreds of times higher than before induced seismicity rates rapidly increased around 2008," said Petersen. "Millions still face a significant chance of experiencing damaging earthquakes, and this could increase or decrease with industry practices, which are difficult to anticipate."
https://watchers.news/2017/03/02/human-induced-and-natural-earthquake-hazards-usa-2017/
A predicted decrease in the number of earthquakes in 2017? Nonsense! Each induced earthquake has cracked the mantle like an eggshell, connecting more and more fractures, as both natural and induced pressure finds more and more faultline paths to split through. And why is there no mention…ever…of accumulating toxic gases spewing up through every release?

what zeroHedge has to say about any wiretapping
http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-03-04/obama-advisor-rhodes-wrong-president-can-order-wiretap-and-why-trump-may-have-last-l
Its pretty well acknowledged that everyone is 'wiretapped' at this point. The dialogue seems to be 'reality TV' entertainment. I dont see anybody going to jail for anything at those levels.
Report comment
f course it is a crime. But everything I read is that Trump is not offering any evidence to support his claims. And everything I read says that they can sweep a room to see if there is wire tapping being done. And it is over a month since Obama let the White House, and if there were wire tapping, it could have been done by many people besides Obama. It could have been done currently.
But again, there has to be evidence to convict in a court of law. It could be that some people are anonymous whistleblowers, or there is an investigation ongoing of someone who is doing something wrong.
If everything were aboveboard, no one would be worried about wire tapping. Paranoia can be from real events or just imagined events. False accusations are also a crime punishable by law.
Are we going to have martial law imposed because someone is paranoid about something they want kept secret? Does tinfoit really stop wiretapping? I thought all conversations were recorded of every phone call in the US no matter who is making the call. This is recording by the phone companies and does not involve putting a bug in the phone. There are all kinds of sophistocated listening devices from what I read in novels that don't even involve the phones. Why isn't someone sweeping the rooms every day for listening devices? There are stories of the Russians putting listening devices on the offices of US persons living in Russia. Tinfoil won't stop that.

It isn't really like Watergate at all. Nixon had to resign not because of the wiretap, but because he subverted the whole Justice Dept. to cover it up. And his wiretap was to win the election which he won.
The wiretap of Trump was not to win the election, after all, Trump won the election. It was, if it existed, to investigate Russian influence and whatever power the Kremlin and its oligarchs have over the President.
Trump needs to make his tax returns public. If he is being blackmailed or bought off by the Russians, it is a national security risk. The Russians are benefiting from the Keystone pipeline, etc.
There are very good reasons why the President should put all his holdings into a blind trust. It may be that he knows that he won't be President for very long, and he is just acting for self-interest and not on behalf of America and her citizens.
I suspect that the hysterical party are those in the White House trying to keep secrets with tinfoil. Whatever happened to transparency?
It seems extremely chaotic when Trump apPointees are fired and some asked to serve withdraw their nomination. Trump anger at Sessions for recusing himself seems extremely strange. Most Presidents are extremely loyal to their appointees. No one wants to serve if Trump is going to fire the person one week later and announce his anger to the whole world.

Officials Not Denying Trump Wiretapping, Obama Claiming No Involvement
“…Wiretapping expert Malcolm Nance, appearing on MSNBC's 'AM Joy,' said Trump's actions remind him of someone who fears being caught doing something wrong.

We do not even do that the way he probably thinks from ‘The Sopranos,’ where we’re actually running a wire and putting bugs into his office.’
“If there are questions coming from the White House about wiretapping, Nance continued, ‘it means they're preparing for a cover-up, because they want to know how they’re actually getting this information. This is what happens when a target starts getting buggy because he knows that he’s caught.’”

MThink, Dr. Anne. If there is a cover up, who would be doing it? … The Trump Administration whose phone conversations transcripts are admitted by the FBI, the CIA, and Congressional investigation to contain no wrong doing? OR the domestic folks or entities doing the wiretapping of a U.S. Candidate for the Presidency, (bad enough before it proved fruitless) and CONTINUING the spy effort… after the Inauguration and well into the Presidency … For the purpose of "leaking" (broadcasting) to the Press contents of classified conversations, in order to hamstring goverance of the United States of America?
What do we know? There are illegal leaked phone transcripts that have been coming from "somewhere." Think, Dr. Anne. Since no entity will admit doing it, doesn't subverting the entire government in order to keep the source of transcripts (whose content release has been ongoing) sound like a cover up even bigger than Watergate?

The Only Remaining Abuse Survivor on the Vatican’s Anti-Abuse Commission Just Quit
".On Wednesday, the Vatican’s commission on clerical sexual abuse announced that its only clerical sexual abuse survivor has quit. The final straw, Marie Collins wrote in a scathing statement, was when found out that the Vatican has failed to implement one of the commission’s most straightforward recommendations: to simply reply to all correspondence from victims of sexual abuse.
Collins, an Irish woman who is a prominent voice on the issue of clerical abuse, told the Catholic news outlet Crux that she is quitting the Pontifical Commission for the Protection of Minors because the commission’s work is being “hindered and blocked” by members of the church’s governing body, known as the Roman Curia. She said she is “totally disgusted” that the curia’s high-ranking men are obstructing the work of a commission set up to protect children and survivors.."

Along the lines of biological underpinnings is instinct for survival – I assert that knowing you or your spouse or your children are at risk of highly consequential reprisal can only be ignored by those lacking normal responses – that 1%-3%, the p-paths, or para-human or subhuman variant.
I know it sounds anarchic but labels don't matter, actions matter, social opprobrium matters, survival matters and if it isn't good for children for seven generations – to borrow a concept – then there should be expected negative consequences of a personal nature.
But we're conditioned to the leash, the whip and obedience, along with superstitious fantasies that belong in the megalithic.

The problem with retribution schemes is the risk of harming the innocent. In the case of politics there arent any, so were in the clear. In the case of the the church…its only fair to let them be judged by their own faith; Tie them to an anthill, with exposed genitals, and if God directs the ants to eat, so be it.
another method would be to simply take the profit motive away; no pay for politicians or priests, period. Anyone left is either a megalomaniac or a pervert. Again, the remedy is the same; castration

Uchiyama said that Abe has maintained his hold on power in part by taking advantage of electoral and administrative reforms that strengthened the prime minister's control of both his party and the bureaucracy.
Jeff Kingston, a Japan expert at Temple University's Japan campus in Tokyo, called Abe the most powerful prime minister in the postwar era.
"There has been an incredible concentration and centralization of power in the prime minister's office under Abe, unlike his predecessors, where power was widely distributed and the prime minister was one among many," he said."

Trump tax boon on 2016 taxes for the wealthy?
Email from Newsmax: “So what is the 26(f) Program?…
“President Trump recently signed an executive order that could help to preserve one of America's most powerful tax havens, and in the process, it could save retirees up to $80 billion.
“Last year, the Department of Labor announced a measure that could cause sweeping changes to a class of investments some are calling "26(f) Programs."
“Among other things, these "programs" can allow a growing number of Americans to avoid cutting a big tax check to Uncle Sam.

“But, on April 10, 2017, a set of controversial regulations are scheduled to take effect, which according to the Wall Street Journal, "could cost American savers $80 billion."
“Republicans in congress have been critical of the regulations, but until now the new administration has yet to make any official statements regarding the future of 26(f) Programs.
“The uncertainty is leaving thousands of Americans scrambling to learn about and access the programs before the April 10th deadline.
“And how can you take advantage of it before April 10th

The Trump Organization’s Azerbaijan partner supports Iranian terrorists, says the New Yorker
6 mins ago
“…The Iranian Revolutionary Guard is a major military, political, and economic force in Iran and in the Middle East. Domestically, it has ties to companies that oversee roughly $12 billion in capital for construction and engineering projects, including Iran’s nuclear defense programs. It has also helped finance terror organizations, including al-Qaeda and Hezbollah.
“Davidson suggests that the Trump Organization might have violated sanctions placed against Iran and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard for conducting business with the Mammadov family. He quotes lawyers who were astounded by the Trump camp’s claims that the due diligence process revealed no red flags. It’s also possible that the Baku project violates the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, a law designed to prevent American companies from rewarding foreign governments in exchange for preferential treatment….”

6 bankruptcies:
“Trump’s companies have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, which means a company can remain in business while wiping away many of its debts. The bankruptcy court ultimately approves a corporate budget and a plan to repay remaining debts; often shareholders lose much of their equity.
“Trump’s Taj Mahal opened in April 1990 in Atlantic City, but six months later, “defaulted on interest payments to bondholders as his finances went into a tailspin,” The Washington Post’s Robert O’Harrow found. In July 1991, Trump’s Taj Mahal filed for bankruptcy. He could not keep up with debts on two other Atlantic City casinos, and those two properties declared bankruptcy in 1992. A fourth property, the Plaza Hotel in New York, declared bankruptcy in 1992 after amassing debt.

WI-FI DEVICES INCREASE MERCURY RELEASE FROM DENTAL AMALGAMS
Recent research indicates that our increasingly Wi-Fi saturated environment could be greatly amplifying the dangers of mercury exposure from dental amalgams.
A new study published in the Journal of Neuroimmunology, entitled, “Effect of radiofrequency radiation from Wi-Fi devices on mercury release from amalgam restorations”, reveals that our now ubiquitous exposure to Wi-Fi radiation may be amplifying the toxicity of dental amalgams and other forms of mercury exposure in the human body.
In what appears to be the first study of its kind, Brazilian researchers looked specifically at the potential for Wi-Fi signals to increase the release of mercury from dental amalgams, which are composed of approximately 50% elemental mercury.

Harvard Univ.: WHAT ARE THE MEDICAL DANGERS OF MARIJUANA USE?
“…Smoking marijuana regularly (a joint a day) can damage the cells in the bronchial passages which protect the body against inhaled microorganisms and decrease the ability of the immune cells in the lungs to fight off fungi, bacteria, and tumor cells. For patients with already weakened immune systems, this means an increase in the possibility of dangerous pulmonary infections, including pneumonia, which often proves fatal in AIDS patients.
“Studies further suggest that marijuana is a general 'immunosuppressant' whose degenerative influence extends beyond the respiratory system. Regular smoking has been shown to materially affect the overall ability of the smokers body to defend itself against infection by weakening various natural immune mechanisms, including macrophages (a.k.a. "killer cells") and the all-important T-cells. Obviously, this suggests the conclusion, which is well-supported by scientific studies, that the use of marijuana as a medical therapy can and does have a very serious negative effect on patients with pre-existing immune deficits resulting from AIDS, organ transplantation, or cancer chemotherapy, the very conditions for which marijuana has most often been touted and suggested as a treatment. It has also been shown that marijuana use can accelerate the progression of HIV to full-blown AIDS and increase the occurrence of infections and Kaposis sarcoma.
Report comment
. In addition, patients with weak immune systems will be even less able to defend themselves against the various respiratory cancers and conditions to which consistent marijuana use has been linked, and which are discussed briefly under ‘Respiratory Illnesses.’…”

thanks Anne for the extensive posting on the marijuana issue. Now that we know its dangerous, we ought to know HOW dangerous. How does it compare, say to breathing the air in L.A. or Beijing, or even Phoenix? You could please find the deaths associated with breathing city air.
Now that you have our interest piqued, everyone is yearning to know…how does the dangerous mairjuana compare to other illegal drugs…AND legal ones. For example, I have it that;
smoking cigarettes is linked with 440,000 deaths per year in the U.S.
Alcohol has been linked to some 88,000 deaths per year, according to the CDC.
Each year, 15,000 people die and 100,000 people are hospitalized as the result of aspirin and other NSAIDs—and these are probably conservative estimates
Those are the legal drugs. So based on your exhaustive research on the dangers of marijuana, we all expect it to be much worse than those legal drugs. How much worse is it? A perfect research project for you. We all are waiting to know how many deaths are caused by marijuana
Here is the difference between drivers on alcohol and marijuana; the first drives too fast, the second too slow
Thanks, and we are waiting for at least 10 or 20 posts on this most interesting comparative study

http://herb.co/2016/01/12/many-people-died-overdosing-marijuana/

Animals track in and transmit many things to a home from radiation to fleas and ticks, mites, bacteria and simple earth (or dead animal breath after playing with one). Animals living in the home like dogs and cats should be kept outside for the most part…
Just good hygiene and ya completely rob a animal of the life experiences of a real dog or cat by trapping them inside…
I know I'll catch some fire from that statement but it's still true…
Think about what you know about tobacco right now…
…Did you know the manufactures of these products mixed all kinds of things into the cigarettes? And treated the tobacco with ammonia for a tastier cigarette? And some are still doing it???
Tobacco is not the problem, the products are…
Look up "tobacco recomp", that's the stems (and other unsaleable parts of the plant) made into paper and mixed into the cigarettes…
mass produced Tobacco is not pure tobacco…
Just like our foods, tobacco was commercialized and is not the smoke you need to be worried about, it's just the smoke screen…
So I'm not surprised a pure plant product like pot would be reasonably safe…
…I am surprised at the level of extra processes a cigarette goes through before someone smokes it.
Watch out for that I-121 (and 131) smoke, that stuff will linger and doesn't come from tobacco or pot

I said don't hold your breath when you asked me to doresearch comparing use of marijuana to alcohol and other drugs. That's not the topic of this website and has nothing to do with what anyone else is talking about.
My Ph.D. is in Comparative Literature, comparing literature across cultures and languages. My course work and comprehensive exams did not cover English or Italian literature. I wrote hardly anything at all on Dante's Inferno. Dante's Divine Comedy also includes Purgatory and Paradise and I compared Dante's text to Piers Plowman, another medieval text from another culture and another language. I studied how each other used Christian Biblical, medieval and patristic teaching and imagery and discussed how that shaped determining the author's intent comparing 2 different authors. My dissertation doesn't discuss sin but redemption and salvation since that is what these two literary works are about. My dissertation is about literary hermeneutics.
There is nothing non-scholarly about citing medical and scientific studies.

“…Nonetheless, it would be fallacious to conclude that because the chemicals in marijuana have been found to present fewer dangers than some very harmful substances, the medical or recreational use of marijuana is perfectly safe. In a recreational context, marijuana has been shown to affect health, brain function, and memory. And in a medical context, marijuana is like any other powerful prescription drug: it has potentially dangerous side effects, and the decision to use it to treat patients must involve the same balancing test as the one required for chemotherapy or AZT: do the therapeutic effects of the drug outweigh its harmful effects? Though there are many more studies to be done on this issue, current data shows that the answer to this question may not always be ‘yes.’…”

The people that alter it or add to or take away from these substances are the evil involved…
…and these are the creators of much of the evil outcomes from these products we use everyday, from cleaning products to gasoline mixes.
And they are in everything! From cigarettes to foods to power production…

Sunflowers also remove radiation, but you have to throw them away. Also if you add zeolite, it add minerals to the plants which then are less likely to pick up strontium and cesium.

I personally will never use marijuana and don't need to read the studies.
Also, I have never once been an enabler for someone who has trouble with substance abuse and never will. When my father was drinking too much, my mother told him to stop or she would leave. He stopped and they remained married for almost 60 years. When my younger sister married and found he was an alcoholic, she said stop or the marriage won't work. He stopped and they have been married 49 years already. Any man who wants me will have to love me more than getting high. I have never been co-dependent and never will be.

Anne, you offered this link and quote. https://cyber.harvard.edu/evidence99/marijuana/Health_1.html
"It has also been shown that marijuana use can accelerate the progression of HIV to full-blown AIDS and increase the occurrence of infections and Kaposis sarcoma."
I read the link. After the comment regarding HIV/AIDS, it stated "Pages 33-51 of this address can be found at the website of the Indiana Prevention Resource Center at Indiana University, located at http://www.drugs.indiana.edu/druginfo/tashkin- marijuana.html." That is a bad link, 404. It also cannot be referenced from the
website under alternative searches. The page also offers no other validation for the wild claim. "Evidence99" indeed. I provided a link and a study which refuted the claim and also an explanation of how inexperience or bias would allow such a claim to be promoted. You have managed to wallpaper in depth in RETALIATION for my calling of foul on the quote, but you have not shown source, study, nor abstract for the original statement I call into question.
Your personal statements, above are also not relevant. Mark it on your calendar.

…Does not validate wild claim.
Crack cocaine might have the potential to "accelerate the progression of HIV to full-blown AIDS and increase the occurrence of infections", according to one study- which is how the wild claim about marijuana implication in AIDS progression was ill defined and misinterpreted/misquoted…
"the lung and it's immune defenses" is also of no relevance to the HIV/AIDS progression claim.
Are you actually stating that the original quote in question has merit?

I don't care about the choices of other people. But if information is posted that information is valuable to someone. People use this website as a resource for information and google searches turn up all the discussions ever held on this website. The truth is always valuable to someone.
I didn't start the topic. I'm just listing medical and scientific studies.
One reason I make the choices I do is that I believe in the Biblical teaching that I am my brother's keeper. I don't drink alcohol because if I did my actions might cause someone who is an alcoholic to stumble and fall off the wagon.

Why is there so much blame here for trying to pass on information? Information should be without come condemnation and emotion.
c
Take the information or not and leave me out of it. Smoking anything, even breathing in wood smoke from a fireplace hurts the respiratory system and the immune system. There is no way to get around that fact. Some people have strong respiratory systems, some don't. Some live in polluted big cities, some don't. Burnt food is carcinogenic. Radiation contaminated material smoked puts the radiation directed in the lungs. There are respiratory diseases apart from cancer caused by smoking anything.
Please argue with someone who cares about the subject. I think life is sacred and to be preserved. There are plenty of jobs which a person can't ever fill is they have ever smoked pot.

Blame?? Better question: Why is there so much wallpapering and lack of accountability for said wallpapering? And so much personal babble? You provided a bunk quote, with a bunk link, I pointed this out, provided proof and left "you" out of it. "You" decided to wallpaper, make projectory "problem" accusations, involve your family and personal life, continue to argue the claim, call it "information", resolve your accountability and babble some more. Perhaps you might consider whether clicking "submit" was fruitful for ENE or just a complete waste of time and resources and how many folks you might be pissing off rather than educating before you did it.

Abstract
“Exogenous cannabinoids or receptor antagonists may influence many cellular and systemic host responses. The anti-inflammatory activity of cannabinoids may compromise host inflammatory responses to acute viral infections, but may be beneficial in persistent infections. In neurons, where innate antiviral/pro-resolution responses include the activation of NOS-1, inhibition of Ca2+ activity by cannabinoids, increased viral replication and disease. This review examines the effect(s) of cannabinoids and their antagonists in viral infections.”

Very bright, colorful, clear, crisp.
If you/others have cataracts, do whatever you can to get it fixed. It is a slow progressive problem, and you just don't realize how it affects you, your moods, abilities to be happy and do things that are made so much more difficult to do.
It is a very depressing condition to live with. Don't!!

'Evidence Hillary Was Briefed by Obama on Covert Abuse of Power to Target Trump'
"COMMENT: You have no proof that Obama briefed Hillary. You are just supporting Trump.
REPLY: Here is Hillary’s Tweet dated October 31st, 2016 AFTER Obama sought the court order to tap the server Trump had in Trump Tower under the pretense it would prove links he had with Russia. That effort failed to produce any such evidence. Here you have Hillary Tweeting about that very server that the Obama Administration applied for – not “scientists”. Hillary was briefed on the effort to use the Justice Department to target Trump for political purposes. This is Watergate all over. Any claims this was innocent national security means Hillary should never have been briefed. Plain and simple. This is an abuse of executive power.

Nixon had no legal standing to BREAK IN and then subvert the whole legal system covering it up.
If there was a legally ordered wiretap (and there is still no evidence that there was), there was a LEGAL reason the court issued the order.
This is all just a distraction while the Republicans steal all the land and all the money and make indentured servants of all of us.
Trump is just a theater-inspired con man. To promise change means nothing. Change can be positive or negative. Destroying the environment is definitely negative.

A Psychological Divide: Irrationality, Psychopathy and Trump’s Cult
“…In her brilliant and disturbing book The Cult Next Door: A True Story of a Suburban Manhattan New Age Cult, Elizabeth R. Burchard documents her own journey into, and eventual escape from, a cult led by Dr. George Sharkman. Ms. Burchard explains how many perfectly moral, rational, and high-functioning individuals may be easily manipulated and exploited by a charismatic individual. The cult leader’s ploy is to seek out gullible, timid, or anxious individuals; convince them that he has all the answers; continue to repeat these answers; and play to their sense of self-superiority by demonizing everybody who doesn’t subscribe to his system. Since June 2015, this has been Trump’s playbook, and it has proven to be very effective – so effective that he is now occupying the highest office in the country and issuing one toxic executive order after another to make good on his campaign promises….”

To bad dope isn't treated like alcohol. No public drinking or in this case no public smoking of dope. Penalties for driving under the influences. Strict age restrictions for exposure and usage of dope like with alcohol and other drugs.
Congress must come to grips with aligning federal dope laws with State laws or dope throughout the land will always be criminal. Congress could at least allow hemp production.

Vault 7: CIA Hacking Tools Revealed https://wikileaks.org/ciav7p1/
Today, Tuesday 7 March 2017, WikiLeaks begins its new series of leaks on the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency. Code-named "Vault 7" by WikiLeaks, it is the largest ever publication of confidential documents on the agency.
Recently, the CIA lost control of the majority of its hacking arsenal including malware, viruses, trojans, weaponized "zero day" exploits, malware remote control systems and associated documentation. This extraordinary collection, which amounts to more than several hundred million lines of code, gives its possessor the entire hacking capacity of the CIA. The archive appears to have been circulated among former U.S. government hackers and contractors in an unauthorized manner, one of whom has provided WikiLeaks with portions of the archive.

Call to Action!
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is accepting comments on whether or not to fast-track 5G wireless networks. 5G will use a dense distribution of antennas (called "small cell") on power and light poles throughout our towns, cities and rural areas. Fast tracking 5G deployment will thwart public participation and impede local control.
Mobilitie, the company that has petitioned the FCC claims: "ALL Americans" want wireless, and wireless is now an essential public service. Mobilitie argues "Robust deployment of wireless facilities and networks demonstrably serves the public interest…", and "The Commission has found that all consumers require wireless broadband to have true and meaningful access to the Internet."
Wireless is not required to access the internet! We can have safer internet access by using wired connections!
Last year, the US government, led by the National Toxicology Program (NTP) linked cancer to cell phone radiation. This study illustrates the need to reduce wireless frequencies not add more!

“Pope Francis is not changing his mind about recreational drug use or marijuana legalization. On Friday morning, the Holy Father made his anti-pot position clear to the International Drug Enforcement Conference in Rome. ‘Let me state this in the clearest terms possible: the problem of drug use is not solved with drugs!’ the Pope said. ‘Drug addiction is an evil, and with evil there can be no yielding or compromise.”
“Legalization, he continued, should be a no-go. ‘Attempts, however limited, to legalize so-called “recreational drugs,” are not only highly questionable from a legislative standpoint, but they fail to produce the desired effects,’ he said….”

What a joke…when the blind follow. Yep that's why we are where we are
But Don Mercedes was "with cardinal friends," we have learned. Cardinal Coccopalmerio and Monsignor Pio Vito Pinto, now dean of the Roman Rota, both intervened on behalf of Inzoli, and Pope Francis returned him to the priestly state in 2014, inviting him to a "a life of humility and prayer." These strictures seem not to have troubled Inzoli too much. In January 2015, Don Mercedes participated in a conference on the family in Lombardy.
This summer, civil authorities finished their own trial of Inzoli, convicting him of eight offenses. Another 15 lay beyond the statute of limitations. The Italian press hammered the Vatican, specifically the CDF, for not sharing the information they had found in their canonical trial with civil authorities. Of course, the pope himself could have allowed the CDF to share this information with civil authorities if he so desired.
It's astonishing that after giving in to requests for intervention by Coccopalmerio and Pinto — requests which were unjust and humiliating — the pope would proceed to give authority over some child abuse cases to Pinto. But perhaps that isn't the first thing on his mind. Doing so would reward one of Pope Francis' friends and humiliate someone he sees as an antagonist.

Riverbanks collapse after Oroville Dam spillway shut off
They apparently did not anticipate a side effect of their decision to stop feeding the gushing Feather River — a rapid drop in river level that, according to downstream landowners, caused miles of embankment to come crashing down.
