T.C. Electronic M5000
Do you love all your old reverb, MD2 and other programs in the M5000; yet you're having problems using two engines? The solution: Install a PSU Kit, version .3 in your M5000. The PSU upgrade kit has the same power supply and fan as is used in the M6000. The instructions are well written; you will need to be mechanically inclined and able to solder. **** Just another note The M5000 and the TC DB Max use a unique processor. This is partly why the sound is so good! The DB Max will sonically blow away any version of the Finalizer. Both the M5000 and the DB Max will also blow away the sound of any plug in.

Brand new microphones cables miswired !
Please be carefull when purchasing new mic cables for yourself or your studio. Samson and Stagewerks mic cables have the chasis ground lug soldered to the pin 1audio ground of the 3 pin xlr connectors. These can be found found a major music stores such as Sam Ash and others as of Jan 15th,2006. Even though serveral white papers indicate not to wire mic and interconnecting cables in this manner, because of ground loops, noise, rizz, buzz when interconnecting different audio gear together , the factory that made the Samson or Stagewerks cables did anyway !
How to tell the problematic mic cables from the good ones.
The female Neutrik 3 pin xlr connector has a red rubber stopper or band on the outside of the shell.
The Solution
Do not purchase thse mic cables, or if you already have, you simply have to twist off the strain relief from the shell and take a pair of diagonal cutters and cut the solid wire between the chasis ground lug and the pin 1 audio shield. You will have to do this procedure on both the male and female connectors of the mic cables.
