1881-Vera Figner: Was born into a wealthy Jewish family she was the oldest of six children.  Figner was a leading member of the terrorist group called Narodnaya Volya (People’s Will) based in Odessa that organized the assassination of Alexander II in 1880 and following the successful assassination on March 1st 1881 in St. Petersburg Figner continued Jewish Bolshevik activities in Odessa.
