Over the last few years, Mercedes-Benz has been on a mission to offer a car for every sort of luxury buyer. That mission continues with the release of the E-Class Cabriolet, the fifth and final body style for the venerable E-Class. It's exactly what you expect it to be, but that's probably not a bad thing.

Mechanically speaking, the E-Class Cabriolet is nearly identical to the Coupe, which itself isn't all that different than the sedan. Initially it'll come to the US badged E400, sporting a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 that makes 329 horsepower and a nine-speed automatic.

Unlike the previous E-Class Cabriolet, this new one will be offered with Mercedes' 4Matic all-wheel drive system. The E-Class Cabriolet rides 0.6 inches lower than its sedan counterpart, and Mercedes Air Body Control suspension is also an option.

The Cabriolet's interior is identical to the E-Class Coupe, which is to say its as luxurious and high-tech as they come. Naturally, the E-Class Cabriolet also gets all of the latest and greatest safety features Mercedes has to offer.

What sets the E-Class Cabriolet apart, though, are all the little details Mercedes throws in to make this drop-top usable all year. There's Aircap, which is a little windshield-mounted spoiler that reduces buffeting, and Airscarf, which blows warm air on the back of your neck.

The best thing about the E-Class Cabriolet, though, is Mercedes' hilariously-named Magic Vision Control. Those are its windshield wipers which are heated, and feature washer jets integrated in the blade itself that only spray water and washer fluid on the downstroke when the top is down. That means you can clean the windshield without soaking yourself. Luxury!

The E-Class Cabriolet makes its debut at the Geneva Motor Show next week, before arriving in US dealers before the end of the year. It should be a lovely, relaxed cruiser.
