Following are examples of faculty members from The City University of New York colleges who are prominent experts on Middle East issues. They are available for comment as coverage of the peace process in Israel continues:

Distinguished Professor of Political Science Asher Arian, CUNY Graduate Center. An internationally recognized expert on Israeli politics, his publications include Security Threatened: Surveying Israeli Opinion on Peace and War; The Elections in Israel (co-editor); Politics in Israel: The Second Generation; National Security and Public Opinion in Israel (co-author). He has written extensively on Israel and the Palestinians, especially on efforts to find peace and on political violence. Professor of Political Science and Urban Affairs Fred A. Lazin, Hunter College. Expert on all aspects of politics and social policy of Israel and American Jewry. His books include Israel in the Nineties, University of Florida, 1996, and Politics and Policy Implementation: Project Renewal in Israel, SUNY, 1994. His specialty is Iran, and he is well-informed on a broad range of Middle East issues, particularly Islamic movements.
