improved OpenGL support.
I wonder if this means better video card support.
I wonder if this means better video card support.
Most likely not, since the audience this released is aimed for, doesn't really require an extensive set of video cards. That is, the only thing that is probably still fully supported is the Integrated Graphics. Though judging by all the tweaks, and added printer drivers, etc. we can only hope that there are some added drivers, or at least imporvments to the broken ones that were initially included.
Didn't Bofors mention over on Win2OSx that 10.4.3 was being seeded to developers on pressed DVD's? If so, then It will be much easier to share with the community than the hell that has been 10.4.2.
EDIT: Nevermind, I misread. It was the 10.4.3 build for PPC that was mentioned, and by Riot_nrrrd, and not Bofors.

Check out my OSx86 Ports here:

Seconded! Now all we have to do is borrow a copy and play with it. I'd really like to get my hands on some of its components...
What will be interesting is if universal binaries start turning up in the normal lifecycle of 10.4.x that is rolled out to existing G4/5 owners.
This is my logic - if a system/bundle application is upgraded for whatever reason and becomes a candidate for an update release, does it make sense for Apple to compile different versions? Maybe so, maybe not. A fat binary may well appear on our real Macs without our even being aware, and that would be just the thing to dump on our OSx86 box to play. So far my normal Apple updates have been strictly PowerPC but from now on I'll be watching a little more closely.
BTW, does anyone know why this is? Is Apple still messing around with their x86 bin format, or is it just a safety measure?
I have registered to ADC but cannot find any link to it (from the Download section).
Maybe it's for an exclusive group only?
So it's not public yet?

there is this premier adc account for 3500 dollars per year. if you get this one, you should receive mac os x86 dvds, i think...
Thanks,
Paul

It was mentioned on the Win2osx forums that despite what level ADC account you may have, you won't be able to see the Mac x86 build downloads. Somehow, it is able to tell whether you have a DTK, and then enable you access to that part of the site. So It's expected that you wouldn't see it.....
Definitely right, the info for 10.4.3 x86 tells you that you cannot do an upgrade."...this is a full system upgrade, and is approximately 3gb..."
"...I hear the update is only 100 MB's..."
No. Like 10.4.2, this seems to be a complete reinstallation of the operating system. That's why we can pretty much skip 10.4.2, which is now obsolete and useless, and focus interests on 10.4.3.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Upgrade installs are not supported for this seed. To
bring data over from an earlier release, please either use the Archive
and Install option, or perform a clean install onto a new volume and use
the System Migration option to bring your files over.
Please be aware that you will not be able to revert back to your
previous system after updating so only install this update on a DTK
system you are prepared to erase.
or perform a clean install onto a new volume and use
the System Migration option to bring your files over
That is sufficient to successful installation.
Actually if smb is aware of where is a torrent (or any of a kind) link to it plz let me know somehow (email or private msgs are ok) - surely I did try search - no results.. - for I consider myself to be brave enough to play with the installation without any fear to lose my previous system.
The matter is I deal with various Macs for years and I say, there's nothing to be frightened about different system install options.
You may be "brave" enough to install 10.4.3 on your system, but it all boils down to whether people are brave enough, or rather, stupid enough to release a torrent of this update and risk getting caught by Apple due to watermarking. It has to be carefully searched inside and out for anything that could give away the identity of its origins.
And besides that, warez is bad and evil. You don't want to "burn in hell" do you?
Tastes differ, you know...
It could be released much faster if anyone would be able to get the MD5 sum of the DMG off of other dev's, otherwise we're left in the same situation as with 10.4.2.
Pu....
Hahahaha!!!!!
I bet on the same situation as with 10.4.2.
as my system is running smoothly but with some speed problems in applications that rely on rosetta I would like to test the 10.4.3. Private email welcome...
thanks
uide
We just need the MD5 sum of one other dev so that we know whether they are any different. I wouldn't put it past Apple but I'm hoping it's not watermarked in any way.Pu....

EDIT: 10.4.3 is not yet released to the public so don't ask me for it as it's useless until it's cracked anyway.

Well, whoever it is could diff releases from two different sources -- because if they're the same, there's probably no watermarking (or at least none worth anything).
What does Apple's EULA for the developer systems (and NDA if applicable) say? Would it be legal for development system lesees to release checksums of raw install DVD images?
