Our facilities

As a complement to our cutting-edge knowledge and courses, Sheffield University Management School moved to a newly refurbished building in 2013. Its new facilities, which are close to the Students’ Union, Sheffield city centre and the Peak District, act as a dynamic hub which will stimulate study, thought and the proactive exchange of ideas. Its new facilities are of a very high calibre and are designed to benefit students in their taught and independent study at every level.

  • Lecture Theatres: We have four modern, comfortable lecture theatres. The Fretwell-Downing lecture theatre accommodates 200, and two smaller ones take 60 and 100 respectively. However, Sheffield University Management School’s stand-out space is certainly our Middleton lecture theatre with its plush leather chairs, fitted with the most contemporary communications technology including microphones and ICT sockets at each desk. It is a very appropriate venue for our lively programme of external guest speakers.
  • The Employability Hub: A dedicated careers service is on hand to support students and put you in touch with organisations. The Employability Hub acts as a key interface between Sheffield University Management School students and the external world. It will help you to access employability support, skills development and opportunities in the following areas: undergraduate projects, postgraduate projects, internships, postgraduate international summer schools, professional bodies and jobs.
  • Seminar Rooms: Spiralling up one of the School’s distinctive hexagonal turrets, our collection of seminar rooms provides the perfect learning environment for groups of varying sizes. They all boast flexible seating, whiteboards and huddle boards to enable multi-purpose usage for break-out space, teaching and learning as well as providing a venue for smaller networking and business engagement events.
  • Attractive gardens surround the school, flooding indoor educational spaces with light and fresh air. Our Courtyard has attractively decked and planted areas – it is the perfect break-out space and has been known to host meetings on sunny days
