Mascot

Historical photo of the base

Operating as Sydney's civil airport since 1920, Mascot saw a relatively minor presence by the RAAF during World War II. No 4 Elementary Flying Training School operated from the site between 1940 and 1942, and Nos 2 and 3 Communication Units were also located at the airfield during the war. After 1946, the site was redeveloped to become a major international and domestic air terminal.
