Love Ya

Saturday morning here..watching the US Hockey Team vs Russia. I recorded it so it's almost over for me...Go USA!

Well, it's also the day after Valentine's Day but I have a couple cards to share that I haven't posted yet. :-)

I think these are my favorite 2 cards I made this year.
I used Tim Holtz Distress Paints (fired brick, barn door, victorian velvet, andspun sugar) with a brayer to cover an 8 1/2 X 11 sheet of paper.

Background:
Tim Holtz Hearts stencil with Adirondack Snow Cap paint and Magenta Hue ink. 7 Gypsies alphabet stamps were inked with white pigment ink. Studio G Hearts stamps with Magenta Hue and Walnut Stain DI. I also see a IO heart die that I used...I die cut the heart and used the reverse image to add the ink. I don't think you can see on here really but I also used Gesso Fiber paste to add hearts with a stencil.

The main image is by Lost Coast Designs. I stamped the image twice and cut the head and popped it up. Sakura White and Glitter Gelly roll pens used along halo and border of background.

Love

Happy Monday everyone!! It's President's Day here in the States. I am one of those people who doesn't get a 3 day weekend out of it. (Unless I specifically take a vacation day.) Just one of those jobs where you can't close up!!

Here's a tag I made for Tim Holtz's February tag/challenge.

I used the Fire Brick distress stain on the base of the tag. Distressed the edges and than swiped Black Soot DI around the edge. I used Stampin' Up - You Are Loved set for the background image, the main image, and the sentiment. Added some glossy accents to the punched out hearts at the top. Also swiped some Pewter Distress Stain with my finger randomly across tag. The ribbon at the top is some Tim Holtz tissue tape that I just folded in half and crinkled up.

Bring On The Chocolates!

Watching the Grammy's (sightly pre-recorded so I can fast forward through commercials), cleaning, and attempting to organize this rainy Sunday evening. One little thunder earlier and my little pup gets all scared. She does not like 'em anymore. Poor thing!

Here's one last Valentine card to share with you...

Stamps are by Art Impressions. Added Crystal Lacquer to her glasses and heart on bracelet. Sparkling Snow glitter to white part of hat. Golden Rod stickles to bracelet and earring. Heart shaped rhinestone onto earring too. Spritzed some Glimmer Mist onto card. I just love this gal!

Blast from the Past

A couple months or so ago I was going through some boxes in my craft closet. I have several with cards that I've received and others with cards that my mom kept over the years that I sent to her and my dad. She even saved cards from when I was a kid!! (When she passed, my sisters all kept our cards.)

Here's some that I made in the last 14 years or so. I still have the bear and Valentine sentiment stamp.

Back in 1998 I cross-stitched (with beads too) several cards for family and friends. There were several designs. This was towards the end of my cross stitching days.

And than there was this one from my nephew's son...isn't it too cute?! Well, my sister (his grandmother) helped. :-)

How about anyone else? Do you keep cards people send to you? Or have older cards that you made for others that have been passed down?

Sweet Friend

Happy Sunday! Quite chilly last night. Had a bit of rain last night and this morning things were a bit frozen over. The dogs were sliding running down the deck to get into the yard this morning. My poor female has tall, skinny legs like a deer and goes all over the place.

Valentine's is fast approaching and here's a card I made a few weeks ago. Today I plan on heading up to my craft room and work on some projects and hopefully play with new "toys" I bought yesterday at the stamp show.

Is this such a cute image? The stamp is by Stampavie/Penny Johnson. I colored with Copics and added Crystal Lacquer on the hearts. Red paper is by Stampin' Up (Riding Hood Red). I cut the one background behind image with scissors and it's popped up from card. And used a heart embossing folder on the white CS. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up.

Sparkle N Sprinkle Fancy Fold Blog Hop

Hope everyone is having a great week. Most everyone's weekend is almost here...mine will start Saturday afternoon (after a 6 day work week, ugh!). And I'll be getting a massage.....ahhhhhh!! Can't wait.

I want to welcome everyone to the Sparkle N Sprinkle Fancy Fold Blog Hop. (Fancy Fold = anything other than a "normal" card.) This blog hop will run for FOUR days. That's right- you'll have plenty of time to check out all the great creations by the SNS Design Team.

If you've arrived from their blog than you are in the right place. If not, I would start there to make sure you have all the details for this hop. There are 3 prizes hidden on 3 different mystery designer blogs so make sure you leave a comment on everyone's blogs. Winners will be announced on January 21st on the SNS blog so make sure you check back there to see if you won.

Now grab yourself a tasty beverage/snack and let's go....

My "fancy fold" is a Tri-Shutter card. This was my first time making this fold and it was pretty easy. I followed the instructions from a Split Coast Stampers  video. There's also a great tutorial on the Sparkle N Sprinkle Tips & Techniques section. So, for the base of the card you can go to either site. However, there is a slight difference in the center part of the card between the two. (Mine doesn't have the 6" score that the SNS site makes.)

For the front center part of the card, use a piece of Super Adhesive sheet approximately 2 1/2" by slightly less than 4". Remove protective layer and sprinkle Reflection Velvet Glitter all over and burnish into sheet. Stamp sentiment/hearts, which I used from the Happy Hearts stamp set, with Versamark and emboss with Cherry embossing powder. Cut a piece of red CS 1/8" smaller than glitter sheet and the embossed CS about 1/16" smaller.

Adhere all pieces together and add to front of card. Trim two different pieces of pattern paper (I used Echo Park - Yours Truly) and adhere to inside center and far right side of card.

Next, stamp square sentiments onto white CS with Versamark and emboss with Cherry and Black Detail embossing powder. Trim to 1 1/4" by 1 1/4". Cut two pieces of black CS and one piece of red CS 1/16" bigger. Adhere to embossed pieces and than to far right side of card.

Punch a heart from Super Adhesive sheet and sprinkle with Fire Engine Red glitter. Press down to make sure glitter sticks well. Punch another heart from white CS. Adhere white CS slightly off center from red/glitter heart and right, center of card with pop dots.

For remaining sections of the card, cut red CS 1/16" smaller than each section. Trim pattern paper 1/16" smaller than red CS. Adhere all pieces to card except the bottom center (with ribbon).

Adhere black ribbon and bow to bottom, center section and than add to card.

Punch five small hearts from super adhesive sheet and add Reflection and Fire Engine Red glitters to hearts. Add 3 hearts to top section of card and 2 to lower section (with ribbon) with pop dots.

Here's another view with the card completely opened....

Remember to leave a comment to be eligible for a prize from Sparkle N Sprinkle. Thanks for stopping by....hope you enjoyed your stay...next up is Karalee

Home Sweet Home

It's Monday! It's gloomy...but it is warm out. I guess that's a plus right?! Yesterday I finished up with some additions to my craft room. There will be pictures up on Wednesday if anyone is interested.

Well, we are 1 month away from the next "Holiday"....Valentine's Day.

Here's a cute card I made last night....

It's a house card. I used a border die from IO for the shingles on the house. The door and windows are also from IO with some Echo Park -- Yours Truly paper on the inside of the windows. The fence is IO and the grass behind it is MFT. I used a pine punch for the bushes and added Flower Soft Ruby. It has a bit of sparkle to it.

Punched out a small heart punch, ran it through the Xyron and added some Recollections Cherry glitter. Than used some Antique Linen Distress Ink around the house and Crystal Lacquer on the windows.

I am entering this card in the following challenge:

Inkspirational - Photo Inkspirational

Here's the photo....

Bee Mine

Hello...almost the end of the first full work week in January. This weekend I am going to a card making class. I believe it features Graphic 45 paper. Can't wait.

Here's a card I made for Sparkle N Sprinkle....

I love the hearts from this embossing folder. Too cute. The Bee Mine image is from the Happy Hearts stamp set. It was embossed with Black Detail embossing powder. Spellbinders Labels Eight was used to die cut the image and backdrop. Along the red background I added Tomato Red Tinsel Glitter. Here's a close up...

Have a great weekend!!!!

Sparkle N Sprinkle January Challenge

Good Morning and Happy New Year to all. Hope everyone had a fun and safe time celebrating. Me? I went to bed at 10:30. I've been sick since Christmas. Had two bad nights and went to urgent care and was diagnosed with bronchitis. So....not so exciting. Anyway....

It's a new month so it is time for a challenge over at Sparkle N Sprinkle. Things are starting to change and it won't strictly be a sketch challenge anymore. Head on over to their blog and see what's in store for the new year.

This challenge however is still a sketch.

Here is my version...

For the base of the card, I used a Tim Holtz Valentine mask and than distress inks around the entire card. The three sentiments were stamped and embossed with Gala Pink embossing powder. I used a heart punch and Pretty Princess and Bubblegum glitter to cover various hearts. Complete instructions can be found here.

All guidelines can be found on the left side of the challenge blog.

The winner of this challenge will receive a stamp set of their choice from Sparkle N Sprinkle.

Now come along and let's play at Sparkle n Sprinkle Creative Challenge blog. You can also check out the other DT's creations as well.....

Have Fun!!
