In Malaysia and Indonesia palm oil production has destroyed vast areas of rainforest and left indigenous forest peoples displaced and impoverished. Now palm oil growers have turned their attention to the rainforests of Central Africa, where more than a half a million hectares of forest are imminently threatened. Palm oil is an ingredient in many foods, cosmetic and household products. With this Product Guide, compiled with the assistance of Ethical Consumer magazine, we aim to provide information to help people make informed consumer choices.
