SCNM is located in Tempe, Arizona, which is adjacent to Phoenix—one of the top 10 metro areas in the United States. The United States' largest university, Arizona State, is also located in Tempe, giving you access to a rich college atmosphere and a variety of affordable housing, dining and entertainment options. Nearly 70 percent of SCNM students are from out-of-state and have relocated to the sunny, beautiful Tempe area. There are several apartment and condo complexes within walking distance of campus, and on most days, you’ll see students biking and walking to class.
Working during school can support your academic performance and demonstrate to future employers your ability to succeed in a professional setting.
Students must be matriculated in a SCNM degree-granting program, enrolled at least half-time in classes and be able to present original identification that satisfies the requirements of Form I9 (Employment Eligibility Verification). Appropriate forms of identification include a U.S. Passport, an Alien Registration Card, or a driver's license with an original Social Security Card or birth certificate. International students must have a visa that permits them to work in the United States.
Types of Student Employment:
Federal Work Study (FWS):
Work part-time in the library, research department, medical center laboratory, or other departments within the college. You may also assist faculty and students as teaching assistants or tutors. Interested students should complete a free application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and must have received, and accepted, financial aid through the FWS program.
