2017 Country Music Festivals Guide
Country music festivals are as much a part of summer as the beach and baseball, but keeping track of them can be a chore. Taste of Country’s Country Music Festival guide actually begins in January with a fest that will remind you of summers past.
Over a dozen well-known festivals begin early in the year and run through September, featuring A-list artists like Blake Shelton, Eric Church, Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney and Luke Bryan. This list will be updated as more festivals are announced, and as lineups for 2017 are revealed.
Crude Fest Texas Music Festival
This three day festival of Texas country music is the largest in West Texas. The Crude Fest Cook Off makes this camping and country festival a delicious variation on a familiar theme. Wade Bowen, William Clark Green and Kyle Park are three more artists announced thus far.
Taste of Country Music Festival
They call it country’s Woodstock, and the 2017 lineup is stacking up to be historic. Jason Aldean and Sam Hunt are the first two announced headliners. Miranda Lambert was also added with plenty of more artists coming soon.
Country Jam Colorado
The music and parties at Country Jam Colorado are legendary. Chesney and Aldean were the first two headliners announced. Thomas Rhett will also headline, and Justin Moore and Randy Houser will co-headline in 2017.
Headwaters Country Jam
It’s the largest country music festival in Montana and it features two stages and over a dozen artists. Lee Brice, Tyler Farr and Joe Nichols were the headliners in 2016, with artists like Darryl Worley rounding out the bill.
Country on the River
The seventh-annual Country on the River featured Kid Rock, Lee Brice and a long list of artists. This growing festival included headliners like Dierks Bentley and Jake Owen in 2015. The great camping and scenic backdrop for this party on the Mississippi River make it one of a kind. Stapleton is the only announced headliner for 2017 but more will be revealed soon.
WE Fest
The 35th annual WE Fest boasts the best facilities and promises an unbelievable lineup. You’ll struggle to find a more beautiful state, or nicer people than those in Detroit Lakes. 2016 brought Eric Church, Kid Rock and Tim McGraw to Soo Pass Ranch. More artists will be announced for 2017 soon.
Crash My Playa
It’s becoming an annual vacation destination. Crash My Play features some of country music’s biggest stars across four days on the beach in Mexico. Bryan will headline two nights at this surfside venue.
Country to Country
The C2C has grown to over 50,000 fans in three major European cities — it’s the largest country music festival in Europe! Chris Young, Darius Rucker and Maren Morris are a few of the other artists scheduled for this three-day international event.
ACM Party for a Cause Festival
The 4th annual ACM Party for a Cause took place at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds on the strip. Proceeds from this party benefitted the ACM Lifting Lives program.
Country Thunder Arizona
The first of multiple Country Thunder festivals offers one of the biggest camping and country music parties in the southwest. Attendance over the four days has topped 80,000 in previous years.
Tortuga Music Festival
Kenny Chesney is one of three announced headliners for the 2017 Tortuga Music Festival. Proceeds from Tortuga have contributed more than $250K to marine and ocean research and conservation organizations. Alan Jackson, Brett Eldredge, Darius Rucker and Dustin Lynch are a few of the other artists. There are 35 in all, including rapper Nelly!
Pepsi Spring Jam
Sheryl Crow and Darius Rucker are the two announced performers for 2017, with acts like LoCash, Colbie Caillat and a Thousand Horses rounding out the bill.
Suwannee River Jam
In addition to a diverse lineup of country stars, the Suwannee River Jam returns with some of the most affordable festival prices. The festival moved to the first week of May for 2017.
Las Cruces Country Music Festival
No details have been announced for the 2017 Las Cruces Country Music Festival.
Stagecoach Music Festival
Since debuting in 2007, Stagecoach has brought a long list of A-List artists to California. This fast-growing festival is also known for having quite a campground party every night. Cole Swindell, Brett Eldredge, Thomas Rhett and legends like Willie Nelson, Jerry Lee Lewis and Cyndi Lauper will open this diverse festival.
Off the Rails Country Music Festival
Justin Moore, Dierks Bentley, Tyler Farr and Old Dominion are also a part of this country music festival. Craft beers, food trucks, cigar rolling and an eclectic video game area are a few of the other non-music highlights.
Tree Town Music Festival
Country music fans have a chance to camp in northern Iowa and see some of the biggest stars in the format. An impressive lineup has been revealed for 2017, including Big & Rich, Dwight Yoakam and Chris Young.
Country 500
The full lineup has been announced for the second annual Country 500, also known as the Great American Music Fest at Daytona. Three stages will be set up on the infield of the Daytona International Speedway, and fans will be able camp right on the infield. The lineup is loaded with stars like Thomas Rhett, Hank Williams Jr., Martina McBride and Brooks & Dunn opening.
Bayou Country SuperFest
The 2017 Bayou Country SuperFest has moved to the Superdome in New Orleans. The lineup will be announced on Dec. 1.
Rock the South
Rock the South was founded as a way to raise money to rebuild an area savaged by tornadoes in 2011. Over the years it’s become a country music tradition that still serves its original purpose. Additional artists are expected to be added later, but 2017 will be a homecoming for Sam Hunt.
Carolina Country Music Festival
This party on the beach promises A-List talent beautiful scenery. Tim McGraw, Keith Urban and Florida Georgia headlined in 2016. More artists for 2017 will be announced soon.
CMA Music Festival
While no artists have been officially announced, it’s a given superstars like Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood and more will play the stadium shows. Meanwhile there’s plenty of free concerts up and down Broadway and dozens of booths of fan fun inside the Music City Center. This is the biggest of all festivals in terms of artist participation.
Big Horn Country USA
Details about the 2017 Big Horn Country USA lineup have yet to be released.
Country Summer
Northern California’s largest country music festival also features will be two weeks later in 2017. A Thousand Horses and Maddie & Tae have also been announced for the 2017 Country Summer festival.
Country USA Oshkosh
For over 20 years Country USA has been a Wisconsin mainstay, with top artists coming to Oshkosh every year. This five-day festival features many camping and VIP options. This year the festival is one week later than it was in 2016.
Country Fest
From legends like Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings to modern stars like Blake Shelton and Carrie Underwood, Country Fest consistently brings the best in country music to central Wisconsin. Hotels and over 7,000 campsites provide accommodations for huge crowds. For almost 30 years this has been one of the premiere festivals in the world. The 2017 Country Fest will also included Chris Young, Dan + Shay, Brothers Osborne and Wynonna.
Moondance Jammin Country Fest
For a decade, fans in central Minnesota have been coming to Moondance. Rhett and Old Dominion are the only announced headliners.
Windy City LakeShake
Little Big Town, Lauren Alaina, Brothers Osborne and Randy Houser are a few of the other announced acts for this third annual festival at Northerly Island. The full schedule is available at the LakeShake website.
Kicker Country Stampede
Old Dominion will also play the 2017 Kicker Country Stampede, with more artists to be announced soon. This three-day camping and country music festival takes place in beautiful Tuttle Creek State Park in Manhattan, Kansas and is one of the better known fests in America.
Dauphin’s Countryfest
Canada’s longest running country music festival always brings A-listers to the stage, in addition to local stars and newcomers. The camping and music festival is in the Riding Mountain National Park, just south of Dauphin. It’s a beautiful stage for a great summer vacation.
Jam In the Valley
This festival in western New York began as a simple fireworks show and slowly became a Fourth of July event with more than 10,000 fans each day. Toby Keith and Old Dominion are the only announced performer so far.
Country Concert ’16
Simple name, but big country fun … the Country Concert is billed as the midwest’s premier country music festival. Since 1981 they’ve been at it in Fort Loramie, Ohio. It’s three days of camping and country music and coolers are welcome! That alone makes this party unique. Old Dominion is also on the bill for 2017.
Cavendish Beach Music Festival
The largest multi-day outdoor festival in Atlantic Canada promises country music, camping, dining and “the warmest waters north of the Carolinas.” The Cavendish Beach Music Festival brings 70,000 fans to what was once a cow pasture in Canada. The fans and A-List stars that attend regularly will agree it’s now a premier destination.
Happy Valley Jam
Chris Young, Big & Rich, David Ray and Adley Stump are also performing at this first-ever event at Beaver Stadium on Penn State University.
Jamboree in the Hills
For over three decades country fans have turned southern Ohio into the country music capital of the world for one weekend in July. The four-day event is one of the most popular in America, boasting top talent and premium facilities. Jamboree in the Hills has twice won the CMA for Festival, Fair or Special Event of the Year. The 2017 festival will also include performances from Chris Young and Kelsea Ballerini.
Faster Horses Festival
Michigan’s “go-to summer bash” was loaded in 2016. The venue is just behind Michigan International Speedway, in the heart of lower Michigan. Eric Church was amongst the headliners for the fourth annual Faster Horses Festival.
Windy City Smokeout
The 2016 Windy City Smokeout was loaded with top country talent, in addition to great BBQ. It’s some of the best eats and country music you’ll find in the midwest.
Country Jam USA
Camping and hotels are options for lodging for this Wisconsin fest. It’s another huge country music party in the cheese state!
Country Thunder Wisconsin
Eric Church played in 2016, and they’ve turned up the volume with some major headliners in 2017. Country Thunder Wisconsin has won the ACM Festival of the Year award in the past, and year after year the lineup lives up to that title. Check out the website for camping and ticket information.
Night in the Country
Night in the Country is billed as Nevada’s legendary country music festival, and recent lineups have backed that up. This camping and country music festival has grown steadily since 2002. Thomas Rhett is the only artists announced for 2017, so far.
Sunfest Festival
In 2016, Vancouver Island’s premiere country music festival also featured performances from High Valley, the Road Hammers and Neal McCoy. More artists for 2017 will be revealed soon.
Oregon Jamboree
In addition to the music, this festival offers plenty of extracurricular activities for fans to do during their downtime. The Oregon terrain is perfect for camping, hiking and water recreation. Fans who come for the music often come back to relax later in the year.
Watershed Music Festival
The 2016 Watershed Music Festival was the first ever country festival to host back-to-back weekends. In less than five years the party at the Gorge in George, Wash. has become a must-visit event featuring top country performers and a great campground experience.
Boots and Hearts Music Festival
Boots and Hearts Music Festival is Canada’s largest camping and country music festival, always featuring the biggest stars in country. The beautiful campgrounds are what keep people returning. This festival is for those who pride themselves on hard work and hard play.
Country Thunder Alberta
A third Country Thunder has been added, joining festivals in Arizona and Wisconsin. Country Thunder Alberta is Canada’s first Country Thunder, now in its second year. More artists will be announced in the coming weeks and days.
Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam
In 2015, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert and Keith Urban headlined the third annual Gulf Coast Jam. A storm forced the cancellation of the country music festival in 2016.
Beach Town Music Festival
The mix of country and pop-rock music at the Beach Town Music Festival is one of a kind. It’s a hometown show for Owen, and he’ll bring country acts like David Nail, Clare Dunn and Adley Stump along with him as well as pop acts like Edwin McCain.
