16 VOLT - FULL BLACK HABIT (METROPOLIS)

16 Volt's "Full Black Habit" is one of the finest of the recent Metropolis Records releases I've exposed my ears to. This artist comes to the table prepared with a sound that is distinct; 16 Volt easily sets itself aside in the industrial world. Yet "Full Black Habit" manages to seem familiar, if not exactly friendly - this is aggressive, dark stuff, after all. It resonates with energy with breaky, DnB flavored treble percussion while the lower beats anchor the band's sound. The textures and rhythms are catchy and the melodic input is finely performed as well. 16 Volt is a prime purveyor of electro-industrial goodness. -- review by Kristofer Upjohn
