Clifford A. Pickover is fascinated by creativity, innovation, education, editing, and publishing. He is Editor-in-Chief of the IBM Journal of Research and Development, has been granted more than 300 U.S. patents, is an elected Fellow for the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry, has 24,000 Twitter followers, and is author of more than 50 books, translated into dozens of languages. His patents are owned by a wide variety of companies, including IBM, Activision, Ebay, Google, Halliburton Energy Services, Lenovo, LinkedIn, Nuance Communications, Trend Micro, Intermec IP, WarGaming.net, the U.S. Navy, Twitter, Yahoo!, Globalfoundries, Paypal, King.com, and Toshiba Global Commerce.

CSI Fellow: Pickover has been elected a Fellow for the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry for his "significant contributions to the general public's understanding of science, reason, and critical inquiry through scholarship, writing, and work in the media." Other Fellows have included Carl Sagan and Isaac Asimov.

Education: He received his Ph.D. from Yale University's Department of Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry, having graduated first in his class from Franklin and Marshall College.

1,500-Page Trilogy: Pickover and his book The Math Book were winners of the 2011 Neumann Prize. Pickover's books also focus on the history of science and mathematics, with such titles as Archimedes to Hawking, as well as The Math Book, The Physics Book, and The Medical Book -- a trilogy of more than 1,500 pages that presents various historical milestones, breakthroughs, and curiosities.
