It's that special time of the year again - the days are getting shorter and we're celebrating! As part of our eleventh anniversary, which also coincides with the
twentieth anniversary of Bretonnia's introduction to Warhammer, the
Round Table will host three new competitions: very short short stories,
conversions, and map making. Members may enter one, two, or all three
contests. In all competitions, participants have until the end of November 2016 (12:01AM GMT
December 1st) to upload their entries.
- Story submissions will need to be uploaded to the "Literature" section. Choose
"Anniversary Literature Competition 2016" in the category. You can find the rules at the end of this article.
- "Make something new, never seen before the End of the Olde Worlde, yet obviously Bretonnian." Conversion photos will need to be uploaded to the Anniversary Painting Competition category of the gallery. Upload up to three pictures of your unique conversion work.It is mandatory to have at least one unpainted picture to assess your conversion skill. One picture may be painted, but we won't judge your painting quality.
- "Draw out a sketch of your new demense, stronghold, hideout, wherever your Army or Warband ended up after the end of the world". Maps will need to be uploaded to the Anniversary Painting Competition category as well.
(NB:
1..If you haven't submitted a story yet, you should ask Guillaume le
Courageux or Uther Di Asturien for the clearance to be able to post new
articles.
2..Deadline is one minute after midnite.)

The End of a Kingdom

He was dreaming, of that Nicodemus was sure.
He floated through a black abyss that threatened to overwhelm him in its inky embrace. Yet he did not despair, he was a knight of Bretonnia! He had tasted the waters that flowed from the blessed cup of his Lady! He knew no fear in the yawning hole of the darkness around him, instead he patiently waited upon his Goddess’s leisure for she had spoken to him thusly on various occasions throughout his life. Although, if he had been completely honest with himself, he would have admitted that each time was just as unnerving as the previous time.

Anniversary Literature Competition 2015

Joint winner of the 2015 Literature Competition
It
did not know its creator. It did not know the time or place of its creation. It
did not know what species created it, or to what end. All it knew was that it
was a weapon intended for champions, for people who dedicate themselves body
and soul to the needs and desires of others. As long as its current wielder
confirmed to those requirements, it could lay dormant, and let the champion
decide matters both great and small. And so it was wielded in the cause of
righteousness.

In September 2005, the Round Table of Bretonnia opened its doors to Bretonnian generals all over the world, continuing the tradition that Earl Cadfael started many years even before that. Now, ten years later, much has happened in the Warhammer world but yet we managed to withstand the test of time and to keep our original Bretonnian spirit. The future holds many uncertainties and exciting times are ahead for us in the Age of Sigmar!
Thus, the motto of your tenth ("X") anniversary is "The Eternal Spirit of Bretonnia in a New Age". You are invited to celebrate with us under this motto in our customary anniversary competitions and events.
Update: The competition deadlines have been extended until 21st of November by popular demand.

As we sail past over a decade of service, the Round Table has seen its halls and buildings grow far beyond what one had thought possible!
Unfortunately, the needs of maintaining the infrastructure to ensure every Knight and Lady suffers no want have also grown far beyond what we all had expected, as such, we once again turn to you, our members, to support the board once more lest it fall into darkness!
In other words! Our running costs have escalated to around 350 euros per year for both server hosting and registered domain names. Unfortunately at the current rate of ad revenue this means we will fall short of the required amount by around 72 euros at the end of the year when the hosting bill is due.
As such, if you find that you have copper, silver or gold to spare, do consider contributing to the Round Table's maintenance costs! Any amount is greatly appreciated and will earn you a spot in our supporters list!
The PayPal donation button can be found here and on the left side of the Main page and Forum!
Thank you all,
-The Round Table Staff
