In 1817 The Netherlands Museum for History and Art in The Hague moved into the “Trippenhuis” on Kloveniersburgwal in Amsterdam were part of the collection of the “Nationale Kunstgalerij”, formerly in The Hague, was also housed. The collection of The Netherlands Museum for History and Art would lay the foundation for the departments of Dutch History and Sculpture & Applied Art of the Rijksmuseum.
