Moya Roddy was born in Dublin.

Her novel is The Long Way Home (Dublin, Attic Press, 1992).

Her short story collection, Other People (Galway, WordsontheStreet, 2010) was longlisted for the Frank O’Connor Award.

Roddy has written for RTÉ, the British Film Institute, Channel 4 and Scottish Television. She wrote several episodes for RTÉ’s sit-com Upwardly Mobile. A radio play, Dance Ballerina, Dance, was short-listed for the PJ O’Connor Award and broadcast by RTÉ. She collaborated with Pete Mullineaux on Butterfly Wings, broadcast on RTE radio in 2010, and two stage plays, Trust Games, (Galway Youth Theatre 2002) and Red Lorry Yellow Lorry – specially commissioned for the 2003 Cúirt International Festival of Literature

Also a painter and widely published poet, she lives in Galway.
