Overview

The Manchester College is a further education college in Manchester, in northwest England. It opened on 1 August 2008 as the result of a merger between City College Manchester and Manchester College of Arts and Technology (MANCAT) to form a 'supercollege'. The college is based at many sites across Manchester. There are campuses in the north, south and centre of the city. Each site has its own specialist, cutting edge facilities and a friendly, supportive atmosphere.

Courses and Fees

The Manchester College offers courses for school leavers, adults, higher education students, employers, and international students. Courses for school leavers aged 16 to 19, include: A-level, Vocational courses and Apprenticeships. Higher education courses include: Higher National Certificate(HNCs), Higher National Diploma(HNDs), Foundation degree , Bachelor's degree, Postgraduate certificate in education(PGCEs) and Master's level. The Manchester College also offers courses for adults and training for employers. The following courses are a sample of subjects on offer: A Level English Literature and Language, A Level Electronics, A Level Film Studies, BTEC Higher Nationals in Mechanical Engineering, BTEC Diploma Fashion and Clothing, Advanced Apprenticeship - Accountancy, Advanced Apprenticeship - Air Conditioning Service and Maintenance, BTEC Diploma Animal Care

Facilities

Football The Nicholls Community Football Centre was developed in 2005 as a state of the art football facility that would serve the needs of the Manchester College as well as providing support for community clubs and youth groups from the local area. Funded by the Football Foundation, it is a facility that can cater for all football formats including matches, coaching and coach education courses.The centrepiece of the site is a purpose built Third Generation Football Pitch which can accommodate 11-a-side matches as well as three 7-a-side pitches. The Nicholls Football Centre also has excellent grass pitch provision which can stage 11-a-side matches and coaching sessions.Fitness SuitesThere are six fitness suites located across the college and these are open to students, staff and the public. The fitness suites offer modern fitness equipment, support from professionally trained and qualified staff, inductions, fitness testing, personal fitness programmes, advice and support to achieve your health and fitness objectives. Moston Campus has a spa, including Jacuzzi, sauna and flotation bed. The salon offers a range of hair and beauty treatments supported by trained, qualified staff. Sports halls are located at Moston and Nicholls Campuses.
