South Essex College of Further and Higher Education is a further education college located over three main sites in Basildon, Southend-on-Sea and Grays in Essex. The college provides courses for students of all ages, from 14- to 19-year-olds to undergraduates, adults and businesses. South Essex College has one of the largest higher education provisions in a further education centre in the country, with around 1,300 students.
Programmes are primarily validated by the University of Essex but the college also has some courses validated by the University of East London.
The college also offers services to business through its Business Development Team, and leads The NOVA Partnership for Apprenticeships and Skills, consisting of 13 education and training providers. This is the fifth largest training provider partnership in the country, offering a range of apprenticeship programmes.

Facilities
The college has a restaurant, a beauty salon and a hairdressers open to the members of the public and staffed by students. The Forum Southend-on-Sea is a unique and exciting partnership project which brings a brand new state-of-the-art library and learning facilities to the heart of Southend Town Centre. Never before in Britain have three organisations worked in harmony together on such a prestigious and ambitious scheme. The £27m enterprise was delivered jointly by Southend-on-Sea Borough Council, the University of Essex and South Essex College. The forum was completed in August 2013, and it provides the town with a state-of-the-art integrated municipal and academic public library.
