Warner Bros Working up Animated "Scooby-Doo"
The original characters |
Warner Bros., in conjunction with Atlas Entertainment, is preparing a new animated version of the classic "Scooby-Doo." Apparently, this version will have no connection to the live-action version that appeared about ten years ago, though the same two guys who produced that generally well-received film (Charles Roven and Richard Suckle) are producing this remake. Matt Lieberman is working up the script.
Saturday-morning tv fans are well aware that Hanna-Barbera first brought the amusing dog and his gang of crime-solving eccentrics from Mystery Inc. to the small screen back in 1969 under the title "Scooby Doo, Where Are You!" It ran for several years during the golden age of Saturday-morning animation, and for many more years in re-runs and syndication.
