The (last?) print edition came out this AM. The site wasn't updated at all today. No one is on socials. These buyers obviously have no interest even in turning it into a shell of itself. This is a plot to kill the 2nd biggest publication in America's 2nd biggest city.

Someday we're going to talk about victims of harassment & the contributions that they never got to make instead of what it means that a "genius" harasser has been fired. How much further would industries have gotten with more people working in them?

Says his beginnings in all-male, bawdy kitchens created his bad behavior. When will these guys think past their dicks, regardless of external forces, and learn to think for themselves what’s right and wrong??? It’s just stupidity and selfishness.

Many of my male restaurant managers were also complicit in how they let male customers treat and talk to female servers. We were never protected from unwanted predatory come ons and “flirtatious” touching.

A new fast food kiosk opened up at our local mall advertising 100% authentic food from the Balkans. I was there at lunchtime, & I asked the nice Bosnian cashier what the most popular sandwich was. She told me "I recommend the chicken fajita". This is a true story. The end.

As Virginia Woolf reminded us, "Art is not a copy of the real world; one of the damn things is enough." So let's hear it for the great Arnie Charnick, who popped over 35 year later to touch up Veselka's sidewalk mural and remind us what the real world ought to be.
