How to get the set:
This article is based on three particular items, a headpiece, chest and legs, which comprise an incomplete recolour of the Rogue Tier 1 Nightslayer set.
There are no other items which perfectly match these three, so we have included a selection of other items in order to create a complete transmogrifiable outfit.
The boots worn by the Pandaren are an excellent fit for this set, as can be seen in this alternative screenshot. However, as the boots are a quest reward from Twilight Highlands, it is likely that many players will already have missed their chance to obtain them. We’ve listed alternative boots below.
Nightslayer Recolour (Pandaren):
Head – The Night Watchman (BoE world drop from Burning Crusade zones/instances)
Shoulders – Skystalker’s Shoulders (BoP drop from Solus the Eternal. See our Skystalker article for details)
Back – Ebonhold Cloak (BoE world drop)
Chest – Terrorweave Tunic (BoE drop from Doomwalker)
Wrists – Parasitic Bands (BoP drop from Magmaw in Blackwing Descent)
Hands – Glovelettes of Opening (Quest reward from Break the Unbreakable in Felwood)
Waist – Hurricane Belt (BoP drop from the Trial of the King encounter in Mogu’shan Palace)
Legs – Warpscale Leggings (BoP drop from Warp Splinter in normal and heroic mode Botanica)
Feet – Flameproof Treads (Alliance version! Quest reward from Magmalord Falthazar in Twilight Highlands)
Feet – Heartstone Treads (Horde version! Quest reward from Paint it Black in Twilight Highlands)
Staff – Ghost Iron Staff (BoE crafted by Scribes of 560+ skill)
Alternative Nightslayer Recolour (Night Elf):
Shoulders – Shadow Heart Spaulders (BoP drop from Grand Empress Shek’zeer in Raid Finder mode Heart of Fear)
Feet – Boots of the Still Breath (BoP drop from Imperial Vizier Zor’lok in Raid Finder mode Heart of Fear)
Dual-Wield One-Handed Swords – Slayer of the Lifeless (BoP drop from Gothik the Harvester in Naxxramas 10)

I’ve been holding onto a terrorweave tunic for probably close to 5 months now, in hopes of one day finding a proper set that is actually complete. Thank you VERY much for piecing this together, as it means I can finally use this awesome transmog piece without missing pieces in a set!
Awesome job.
Finally finished this set, boots and sword dropped the same day….go figure.
Nice looking set.
Just as a follow up, some other weapon suggestions that go very well with this set:
Chromatically Tempered Sword (from Chromaggus in BWL)
and if you are a dagger rogue the dagger that goes perfectly with this set is Whispering Blade of Slaying this drops off the last boss in Shadow Labs (Murmur).
got the chest off the AH yesterday for 5k. just need Gothik to give up the sword and I need the boots to drop…..LFR sucks
Good luck to you!
Seriously it is so hard to get the chest. The world boss spawn rate is a joke. Been camping for it but no luck at all. Sigh.
It is indeed a challenge to find Doomwalker. The spawn timer is circa 4 days, and his spawn point is a high traffic area due to the many people visiting Black Temple. I used to camp Kazzak in Hellfire and Doomwalker quite frequently for transmog gear, but I’d always have much more success with the former. Best of luck!
Drape of the Untamed Predator, the Alliance version, is possibly the best cloak for this set.
Btw Noelani.. Regarding about the feet is there something similar to the gold nightslayer? I am using the (Felboar Hide Shoes) that didnt look bulky like the one you showed above (Heartstone Treads). Thanks again and sorry to bother you.
We actually found it extremely difficult to find good matching boots for this set, so getting something suitable with a narrow leg model might be a matter of colour compromise. A lot of the blueish boots were just not quite close enough colour matches to fit well.
My best suggestion would be the Clefthoof Wanderboots. They appear differently on male and female characters, but shouldn’t be too bulky either way. The colour is a bit on the dark side, but it might be a passable alternative.
Thanks alot Noelani..
Hey,
I have gotten the hands (Glovelettes of Opening) but it different from the pic above. Any idea any alternative hands for this set?
Ty
How do they appear to you? They should only be small black hand gloves with a blue band around the wrist.
As for alternatives, Ceremonial Leather Gloves are similarly small, Replica Darkmantle Gloves are bigger and would cover wrist models better, and have an appropriate colouration.
