The Office of Education and Outreach (OEO) provides educational and outreach programming for students, educators, and young inventors and innovators of all ages. The OEO is managed through the Office of the Under Secretary and Director of the USPTO and supports the mission of the agency by providing relevant intellectual property, innovation and invention resources to school administrators, teachers, students and parents. The OEO also has a robust outreach program that supports many community-based invention and innovation programs.

Department of Commerce - USPTO - Cornell University Partnership

An on-the-ground resource for intellectual property in New York City, the U.S. Department of Commerce, through the USPTO, is partnering with Cornell University to bring a full suite of resources to the New York City community, including the university community. The partnership was launched in October 2012 and Mindy Bickel, PhD., is the current Innovation Outreach Coordinator for the Greater New York Region. She is working out of the Cornell Tech campus, connecting entrepreneurs, inventors, students, and faculty to the resources available within the Department of Commerce, including intellectual property education, export assistance tools, government grants, and government partners.  More information on the program can be found here.
