Post details: Populate Form Fields Bookmarklet

Aug 15, 2008 : Populate Form Fields Bookmarklet

Sometimes you need to fill in lots of form fields, but you aren't using Firefox with the Web Developer Toolbar and it's "Populate Form Fields" tool. So I wrote a javascript bookmarklet that does basically the same thing.

Drag this to your bookmarks toolbar: Populate Fields

If you drag a javascript-bookmark like this to your tool bar, it's called a "bookmarklet" and you can just click on it to run it when you're on any page. It's useful when you have to fill out a long form and you don't care what goes into it. So it fills out the form with dummy data: the values are the same as each field's name.
