The Association Electronique Libre is a belgian association protecting the fundamental rights in the information society.

The Association Electronique Libre supports the freedoms of speech, press, and association on the Internet and any electronical mediums, the right to use encryption software for private communication, the right to write software unimpeded by private monopolies, the right to access and preserve public domain and free digital information.

The association was created to defend our fundamental rights in the information society. Cyberspace is a wonderful place where freedom, democracy and ethics are available without boundaries. But there are of lot dangers and forces that want to limit this natural freedom.

Candidats.be (an APRIL initiative) is asking candidates for the European and Regional Election to support the free software pact initiative. Already 65 candidates signed the pact, ask your candidate to sign the free software pact.

Richard M. Stallman, founder of the Free Software Foundation, declares: "Big dangers threaten the freedoms of Free Software in Europe: software patents, DRM, bundled sales, treacherous computing ... MEPs want to torpedo the Free Internet on July 7th
