Someone has until October 31st 2001 to do something for me. I can't say what it is, just that it must be done, or else. :)

Tick Tock Tick Tock

I know I'm going to get in trouble for this but...

mirwin:

Reviewing your advogato home page I see you are an artist as well. I was looking forward to perusing your gallery when I received odd traceback information in godzilla which I will attempt to recreate and post below.

Abject failure, no cut & paste between godzilla windows? Can this be correct or is it merely local ineptitude. Find out another time. For now movig forward in true engineering professionalism to specified goal ....

Man, I hate it when my Godzilla windows misbehave like that! What's even worse is when Godzilla fights Destroyer and trashes Tokyo. It's a real pain in the ass, I tell you.

kelly:

I've already withdrawn my certification, after reading this entry. (Scroll down, way down.)

gary: Your evidence was quite convincing. mirwin must be a bot. Occam's razor, the simplest explanation is the most likely, and all that.

kelly: I know it's tempting, but please do not feed the bot. :)

Business:

OLS is thinking about doing another type of conference. I can't say anymore right now. If things pan out, it should be interesting.. :)

nymia: Gosh, I wish I worked in your office. I'd love to get roses. Oh well, a girl can dream, can't she?

Pleasure:

Actually Pain. I injured both legs while running last night. I over did it. That'll teach me to do 7K on my first couple runs. Ouch.

My Cotton Candy Pink has already started to fade. It'll be gone by Sunday I'll bet. Not to fear, for here comes After Midnight Blue to the rescue!

Ahhhhh...... Cotton Candy Pink :)

So I've started running again, an hour each day. I take the dog out and we follow the river. According to my odometer it's only about 7K, but hey, it's a start. :) In case you were wondering, my running partner is my dog, Tigger, I mentioned her the other day. Lots of people assumed it was some guy. Dunno why.

There comes a time, in every woman's life, when she has to ask herself:

Manic Panic Cotton Candy Pink or Boisen Berry Blue?

It's an amazing thing, when you go out for a jog, and running along beside you is someone who can tell where you're going without saying a word. There's this rapport that's instinctual. When one of you slows down, the other notices, slows and waits for you. No words are necessary, just a quick look in the right direction and off we both go. That kind of connection is profoundly moving.

gary: So, in other words, raph has lowered the bar so that us pathetic aprentice types can move up a notch. And I'm not particularly thrilled to be mentioned in the same sentence as mirwin. :)

zeevon: It seems the same thing has happened to me. Only, I didn't notice until someone pointed it out to me on IRC.

"Hey steph, you're blue"

"I'm what?"

"You're blue on advogato."

"No I'm not, I'm green."

"Yes you are, go look, http://www.advogato.org/person/sad"

"No I'm not, only someone on crack would cert me blue"

"Well then, someone's on crack"

"Oh crap, I am blue. How'd that happen?"

It was very...um...surreal. I kept arguing with them, I'm not sure why. Oh and by the way, no offence to the people who've done so, it just seems weird to me, that's all. :)

rachel: Are you sure you should be taking an infant to Burningman???

New Resolution:

From now on, I'm going to mock anyone who constantly annoys me. There's this one idiot on a mailing list I subscribe to who has this highly inflated ego. He's one of those people who thinks he's a brilliant mind, but everyone around him can see he's just an cretinous jackass. The jerk annoys me constantly. So I've started responding to his posts. I'm usually pretty reserved. But boy, he seems to just irritate the hell out of me!

Ajh says I shouldn't do this. He says it's like duelling with an unarmed man. :)

I seem to have gained a good deal of self-confidence on my trip. I would never have done this a month ago.

Maybe it wasn't self-confidence. Maybe it was pure unadulterated bitchiness! I am a new woman!

I'm back from vacation. I've been swimming with Beluga whales in Hudson's Bay. It was incredible. I'm still not at the point where I can bring myself to do a full write up about my trip. I found the experience to be very moving and emotional. I'd almost call it a religious experience. I think I need some time to just think about it for a while longer, before I write about it.

So I am now back and trying to catch up on work.
