Ross Orr, silver-based life form.

Snapper Ross

I like to mess around with cameras, preferably kind of quirky ones.

I'm basically allergic to cropping. A black border around any of my shots is the blank film outside what the camera exposed.

Some of my most-viewed Flickr photos are of various oddball DIY projects, so please, check 'em out.

Other stuff you might want to peek at: friends, pinhole photography, musicians, black & white, shots from a modified Brownie, architecture, scenes from my town, old photos from the archives, messing with polaroids, some of my peculiar photographic apparatus, and my sets about fire and strange car wheels...

I tweet, if you're into that kind of thing.

I am one of the folks who keep camera-wiki.org chugging along. We've got another Flickr account where I contribute some geeky stuff, and a Twitter feed with updates about what's happening.

P.S. I'm already having trouble keeping up with all my current contacts. So if you add me and I don't reciprocate, don't take it personally...

Vox is one of my very favorites. A gentleman, a scholar, a poet, an intriguing soul, if ever I met one. If only Ann Arbor were not so far away, I would be proud to call him a real, flesh & blood friend. Instead, I must settle for flickr and ones & zeros.

I am pleased to know Ross in person, and appreciate his sense of humor and love of photographic gear. He's one of those people that loves to experiment with methods and make the odd stuff work. On top of that, he's got a great eye for photography, and has made some really amazing images with some of the simplest equipment. Ann Arbor is fortunate to also have someone that is willing to share his knowledge and enthusiasm. I look forward to getting out shooting with him sometime.
