I upgraded my laptop to Linux 2.6.31.4 yesterday. Now my pair of Clique HUE webcams I got remaindered for US$2 from K-mart work, mostly, using the gspca_sn9c20x driver, and identifying as 0c45:6282 with a "MT9M111 sensor", and testing with "cheese". These webcams were advertised as offering "true 1024x768" resolution, but the image sensor is only 640x480. I have to flip it back and forth between 640x480 and 320x240 modes a few times before I can get a usable 640x480 picture. I haven't tried the mic yet. Nothing happens when I click the snapshot button. Nice packaging, though. Now Clique promotes a "HUE HD" for which they claim, probably equally deceptively, 1280x1024 resolution.

Speaking of cameras, if you're ever out and see some guy who just won't leave a girl alone, get out your phone and snap a picture of him. It's the easiest, safest way I know to help prevent a possible rape.
