This section contains “Lessons” that have been written by myself and others who are participants (or consumers) in DBT groups. We wrote these lessons to help others who were just starting in DBT and asked us to provide examples from our own lives about our understanding of various skills.

I suppose it would be prudent to say that the opinions expressed in these lessons are those of the individual authors, not the overall DBT organization or professionals in the field.

Thus, take the viewpoints expressed here for what they’re worth. You can agree or disagree. In fact, the purpose is to create discussion.

I don’t have lessons for every skill yet, but I hope you find these helpful.

Mindfulness

Distress Tolerance

Emotion Regulation

Interpersonal Effectiveness

The bad news is time flies. The good news is you're the pilot.
