Chicago Theater Accountability Coalition addresses discrimination and injustice in theater criticism

A group of Chicago actors and playwrights have formed The Chicago Theater Accountability Coalition, meant “to stand up against discrimination and injustice.” The coalition formed after a June review by Chicago Sun-Times critic Hedy Weiss of “Pass Over,” now on stage at Steppenwolf Theatre. She’s a co-creator of The Daily Show and the Lady Parts Justice League - a reproductive rights organization that uses humor and outrage to expose anti-choice zealots and mobilizes people to take action in all 50 states. This summer Lizz and the LPJL are on the road with the “Vagical Mystery Tour,” bringing comedy and music shows to 16 cities for a fantastic and fun evening of comedy and raising awareness about how people can volunteer to help their local clinics.
