Matjiesfontein is a historical tourist attraction located in the Karoo, about 245km from the metropolis of Cape Town. Matjiesfontein population totals 376 people facing the sad reality of an unemployment rate of 75%.
Anix Consulting will be employing 70 previously un- and under-employed persons in this community through a dynamic job creation project. This project forms part of the Expanded Public Works Programme, funded by the National Department of Environmental Affairs.
The project will seek to assist the community’s movement towards self-sustainability training the community to erect a nursery and establish a 1-hectare herb garden. This exciting project commences 1 February 2012 and will conclude at the end of October this year.
The job creation drive continues as Anix goes greener.
