Totally disagree... the skater makes the skates. Go back 5 years... the pros WERE using those skates:rolleyes:

I like my remz. They are comfy once you break them in. The souls are about the size of TRS's. They are suprisingly light, a lot lighter than my Alphas. What you should do is see if you can find a shop around you and look at different skates and try them on. But I love them.

COMPLETELY UNTRUE... you can ABSOLUTELY kick ass on p.o.s. skates

I skate on 1996 K2 Fatty's (see above). I guarantee you that I can do just as much on them as anyone on newer skates

And as far as REAL piece of sh*t skates... I had $50 blades from Toys R Us that I got when I was 10... I was landing 360s, 540s, and occasional 720s on those rec skates back in 1994. I was also grinding frontsides and soles on the same rec skates.

Chris Edwards, Brian Bell, and many others were kicking ass and winning competitions running modified Rollerblade Lightning TRS's

Study your inline history...Once again the athelete makes the gear... not the other way around. If you gave jimi hendrix a $50 guitar he'd play it just as well as his $5,000 fender. And if you gave Chris Haffey a pair of 1996 K2's I guarantee you he'd be just as good as he always is.... I'm sure that some of the other guys that skate on older gear would back me up on this (WhiteTrashLou).

the amount of ass you kick is in no way relative to how "good" your skates are. i can do just as goon riding my OYX '02's as i can riding a brand new pair of the most expencive K2's, or the most expencive Remz, or a pair of Rollerblade Lightnings for that matter.

prove it...if u skate skates that are uncomfortale than you, in theory, wont be able 2 skate as well...and aggressive k2 all suck so it makes no dif if u wear fattys er transfers er w/e

aight. bet. i'll skate anything you want me to skate. i'll rock them old 4x4 rollerskates, it makes no difference to me. after a hour or so, when i get used to 'em, i'll rock every trick that i can rock, just like i was wearin my OXY's.

Actually my friend has the Transfers. He says they are really comfortable, and he can skate with them fine. The only part I dont like is the cuff on them is like a toy from wal-mart, and the liner isnt removable. Also k2 pattented the removable h-block, which is stuped cuz I tried to take it out and its almost impossible. They dont really slide that well also. But they were good for their time, and are good if you dont do many technical grinds in my opinion.

Hey just wondering why you had trouble getting the H-blocks out of your K2s? If you scroll up, I took them out of both of mine without a problem:confused:

Idk, i took the screw out. I couldnt pull it out, so i took the tool and pushed it in the hole to try to push it out. It wont even budge.

same, with my old dirty fattys, i tried 2 get it out and it wouldent move...one thing good about k2 is that there tool is really good:p and yes i put em on 2day and ill admit the liners are comfy

I love my fattys, those are my second pair. They're comfortable, I like the way they look and feel. I can skate all day with them and they're just as good as all the other $300 skates. I remember soul grinding on roces a long time ago and there was hardly anything to grind on. You always had to hit and be very percise in order to pull off a soul grind, I'm even old enough to remember the time before h-blocks.
