Chris is a privacy thought leader, as he frequently speaks at industry events such as the IAPP Data Protection Congress, the Privacy Identity Innovation Conference and the IoT Privacy Summit. He is also widely quoted as a privacy expert in well-known publications such as PCWorld, USA Today and the Wall Street Journal. Before joining TrustArc, Chris spent over a decade building online trust, most recently in the security industry as Senior Vice President and General Manager of VeriSign's worldwide Authentication Services business, where he was responsible for strategy, sales, marketing, product and support. Chris also previously managed VeriSign's SSL and Managed Security Services business. In these roles he helped grow the businesses though the launch of new products to enterprise and small/medium businesses, international expansion in EMEA and Asia and through acquisition and integration of a number of companies. Chris holds a BA in Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences and Economics with Highest Distinction from Northwestern University and lives with his wife and three sons in San Francisco. Connect with Chris on LinkedIn. × Tim SullivanChief Financial Officer Tim has led Finance, Accounting, and HR at TrustArc since 2010, leading the company through significant expansion and growth in terms of employees, geographic coverage, and business operations. Before joining TrustArc, Tim gained 15 years of financial and strategic management expertise working with various technology companies as a Managing Director in Morgan Stanley’s Technology Group. At Morgan Stanley, Tim worked with the full spectrum of technology companies — computer hardware, software, internet, semiconductor and semiconductor capital equipment, and contract manufacturing — and spent several years as the Co-Head of its Global Semiconductor Practice. Tim helped his clients raise over $12 billion in equity and debt financings and advised on over $20 billion in strategic mergers and acquisitions. Tim has a BS in Business Administration with Honors from the University of California, Berkeley. Tim enjoys car restorations, DIY projects and the outdoors (particularly Maui). Connect with Tim on LinkedIn. × Hilary WandallGC and Chief Data Governance OfficerCIPP/US, CIPP/EU, CIPM Hilary joined TrustArc in 2016 after 22 years at the global pharmaceutical company, Merck, where she most recently was AVP, Compliance and Chief Privacy Officer. At TrustArc, Hilary oversees all legal, regulatory and policy matters and manages Policy and Data Governance and International Regulatory Affairs teams. Hilary led the global privacy program at Merck since 2004, including its efforts to become the second company in the world to achieve APEC CBPR certification, the first company to achieve CBPR certification of its entire privacy program, and the first company to achieve EU BCRs based on its APEC CBPR certification. During her tenure at Merck, Hilary also held positions as a corporate attorney, compliance officer, marketing promotion manager and biomedical research scientist. Hilary has served in various leadership positions within the privacy community, including the Executive Committee of the IAPP Board of Directors and 2016 IAPP Board Chairman, Chair of the Board of the International Pharmaceutical Privacy Consortium, member of the OECD Privacy Experts Working Group, Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the International Accountability Foundation, Advisory Board of the Future of Privacy Forum, Steering Committee of the Centre for Information Policy Leadership and Privacy and Security Advisory Council Member of the Kavli HUMAN Project. Hilary received her law degree and MBA from Temple University, Master of Bioethics from the University of Pennsylvania, and Bachelor of Science in Biology from Moravian College. Connect with Hilary on LinkedIn. × Kevin TrilliSenior Vice President of Product Management Kevin has led product management at TrustArc since 2008, and successfully developed multiple leading-edge privacy compliance products, including the industry’s first Data Privacy Management Platform. The SaaS-based platform helps enterprises manage their privacy program across the entire organization from a single interface. The platform automates key functions ranging from data inventory to risk assessments to website scanning. Kevin brings over 20 years of high-tech product management and entrepreneurial experience to TrustArc and is an industry thought leader, entrepreneur and visionary on privacy, online identity, reputation and trust. He has spoken at numerous industry conferences including the IAPP Data Protection Congress, Online Media Marketing and Advertising (OMMA), World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), Compliance Week Europe, Cannes Lions, Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) and the Application Developer Alliance. Prior to TrustArc, Kevin founded AssertID, a technology company that provides parental consent services to address the COPPA regulatory space in protecting children’s privacy online. Previously, Kevin spent eight years at VeriSign, including as director of product management for the SSL, authentication and security services business units. Kevin holds multiple patents and patent applications in online identity. Kevin has a Master of Science in Management from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he is a Sloan Fellow. Kevin also holds a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he concurrently served as a lab administrator for the University Computer Services Organization. Dave has played a significant role in transforming TrustArc from a website certification provider into a global enterprise providing a full suite of compliance offerings via the company’s Data Privacy Management Platform Some highlights include launching innovative products (Assessment Automation), development of a consumer privacy research series, and orchestrating educational summits in both the US and Europe. Dave brings over twenty years experience managing marketing and business operations across a range of industries. Past experiences include: SVP Marketing & Sales for consumer software at Phoenix Technologies; VP SaaS Marketing and GM of the Zoomerang Online Survey business at MarketTools; Head of Business Operations for the AOL Small Business; Head of Marketing and Operations for HP’s Consumer E-Commerce business. Dave holds an MBA from Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper School of Business and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. She has over 15 years of customer care leadership experience and leads a team of several dozen privacy solutions professionals at TrustArc located around the globe that provide guidance to clients in implementing privacy management solutions and products. Prior to joining TrustArc, she was the Senior Director of Co-Location Customer Service Operations at CME Group, a global derivatives marketplace headquartered in Chicago, where she created and managed a 24 x 7 multi-channel support center, customer portal, and quality management program. Prior to CME Group, Elizabeth was Regional Service Vice President at Verizon Business. Supporting multinational enterprise accounts, Elizabeth drove continuous improvement for service delivery, post-install technical advocacy, and service management. Elizabeth holds a Master's degree in Strategy, Management, and Leadership from Michigan State University's Eli Broad Graduate School. As Vice President Consulting, Eleanor leads a team of global privacy consultants delivering privacy assessments for large enterprises across Asia, Europe and the U.S. and supporting integration of the TrustArc market-leading Data Privacy Management Platform. In her role at TrustArc, Eleanor has pioneered multiple successful thought leadership initiatives including a four-year research program, as well as a wide range of events in both the US and Europe – including the highly successful Privacy Insight Series and IoT Privacy Summits in Silicon Valley in 2014 and 2015. In 2012, Eleanor played a key role in supporting the TrustArc global expansion as they entered the European Market. Prior to joining TrustArc, Eleanor led a global strategic communications consultancy building on her 11 years experience advising UK Government Ministers through high profile issues from public health campaigns and disease outbreaks to counter-terrorism and military operations in Afghanistan. Eleanor graduated from Cambridge University (UK) with a MA in Philosophy. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E) an IAPP Advisory Board Member and Founding Member of the European CIP Institute creating a body of knowledge for crisis/risk management professionals. × Ken OkumuraSenior Vice President of Engineering Ken has led Engineering at TrustArc since 2010 and is responsible for global engineering technology and operations. While at TrustArc, he has led the engineering development of multiple privacy management solutions including the SaaS-based Data Privacy Management Platform, which helps companies implement ongoing privacy management monitoring and controls. Ken has over two decades of experience building and scaling core Internet infrastructure in privacy, security, commerce, and communications. Prior to joining TrustArc, Ken led engineering efforts at Qualys, a company specializing in vulnerability management. Prior to that, Ken was at Google following its acquisition of Postini, where he was responsible for building its messaging security and management systems. Prior to Postini, Ken spent eight years at VeriSign developing and managing its cryptographic, PKI and payments systems infrastructure. Earlier in his career, he held engineering management positions at VISA and GTE. Ken has a Bachelor of Architecture and BS in Computer Science from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. In Park’s 20 year Human Resources career, he’s worked for several high growth companies where he planned and shaped HR programs for Bay Area start-up and established environments. Recognized for the ability to create programs across a variety of HR functions, he blends innovative solutions based on solid business fundamentals to produce HR initiatives that benefit the company and employee. Park’s most recent position was as the Senior Director of HR for Healthline Networks, a company that split into two very successful companies (a health data B2B company and a Health Media company). Park has a BA in Psychology from the University of California, Davis, and a MBA from Dominican University of California. Connect with Park on LinkedIn. × Joanne FurtschDirector, Policy & Data Governance/CIPP Joanne has played a key role in driving policy and privacy strategy and execution both at TrustArc and across the global privacy industry since 1999. She is a leading expert in global online privacy practices spanning website, advertising, mobile and application privacy with deep specialization in privacy laws and regulations including the GDPR, COPPA and international data transfers. Joanne has contributed extensive practical expertise on a number of ground-breaking privacy services and products, including Data Collection certification and EU Privacy Shield verification. She also played a crucial part in developing content for the Data Privacy Management Platform, which enables effective privacy management across the enterprise. Joanne has also been involved in developing the TrustArc APEC Privacy Certification program and the EDAA Trust Seal. Joanne has written on a variety of privacy-related topics including Privacy Advice on Companies Using Social Network Tools and COPPA compliance. Joanne has served on a number of different committees including the Privacy Committee for the Mobile Marketing Association and the Advisory Committee to develop the Recommended Practices on California Information-Sharing Disclosures and Privacy Policy Statements for the California Office of Privacy Protection. Connect with Joanne on Twitter or LinkedIn. × Josh HarrisDirector, International Regulatory Affairs Josh is based in Washington, D.C. and joined TrustArc in 2014 bringing extensive global privacy expertise. Josh frequently travels across the US and to Europe, Latin America and Asia to contribute to work being done by the government and the industry on data privacy interoperability. He also serves as the company lead on the APEC Cross Border Privacy Rules certification system to ensure the safe transfer of data across different locations. Prior to TrustArc, Josh served as Policy Director for Future of Privacy Forum, a Washington, D.C.-based think tank that seeks to advance responsible data practices and protect consumer privacy. Prior to FPF, Josh was Associate Director in the Office of Technology and Electronic Commerce at the International Trade Administration. Josh has also worked in private practice as an international trade attorney. In 2004, he was selected to the White House’s Presidential Management Fellowship program. In 2008, Josh was recognized with a professional award for his contributions to a Presidential trade initiative. In 2012, Josh received the United States Department of Commerce Gold Medal – the highest award offered by the Department – for his work on the APEC Cross Border Privacy Rules System. From 2011 – 2013, Josh was the Vice-Chair of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation’s (APEC) Data Privacy Subgroup and Chair of the Cross Border Privacy Rules System’s Joint Oversight Panel. Previously, Josh was the Vice-Chair of the American Bar Association’s Privacy and Information Security Committee. Josh received his Juris Doctor from the George Washington University Law School in 2004 and his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Geneseo in 2000. Josh was admitted to the Washington, DC bar in 2005.
