Tourism statistics give you information about the tourism industry in New Zealand. Find information about:

  • expenditure by domestic and international visitors
  • contribution to GDP
  • tourism employment
  • arrivals and departures by overseas visitors and New Zealand-resident travellers.

Statistics about tourism also include information on total expenditure by international students in New Zealand less than 12 months (consistent with the definition of a tourist) comprising course fees, living costs, airfares on resident airlines, and other related expenditure.
