SANTA CLARA, California – Canada’s Alphonso Davies captured the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup Golden Boot Award, finishing as the joint-top score by netting three goals in four games.

He edged out Jordan Morris (USA) and Kevin Parsemain (Martinique) by virtue of playing less minutes.

The Vancouver Whitecaps FC standout – only 16-years-old – scored two goals in a 4-2 win over French Guiana to open the tournament and then netted in a 1-1 draw with Costa Rica.

Davies is the second Canadian to earn the honor, joining Carlo Corazzin, who accomplished the feat in 2000 (4 goals).
