Russian culture and Lolita ──An original position in the voice acting world
Koisuru Zukei (cubic futurismo)/Sumire Uesaka
Sumire Uesaka made her debut as one of the main heroines, Sora Takanashi, in the 2012 TV anime Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father! Until now, Uesaka has appeared in many popular anime such as Kantai Collection, Idolmaster Cinderella Girls, Show By Rock!!, and Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions (Chunibyo Demo Koi ga Shitai).
Also, in 2013, Uesaka sang the theme song for the anime Namiuchigiwa no Muromi-san entitled, ‘Nanatsu no Umi yori Kimi no Umi’ which was her debut as an artist.
Uesaka has varied interests: Russian culture, lolita fashion, and military. Her concerts are called rallies, and her fans are called comrades.
The influence of the never ending malicious replies
In 2016, Uesaka took a Twitter hiatus. At that time, she mentioned the morals of users on her blog:
There were thoughtless replies being sent directly to my account for a while now but it has become so much that I can no longer overlook it, so I have decided to take a break from Twitter.
Of course it is a minority of people doing this and the majority are genuinely supporting me. I apologize to those who were looking forward to my tweets.
I knew that it was a difficult tool to use but it seems it was too difficult for me…From Sumire Uesaka Official blog Powered by LINE
After her comeback to Twitter, the thoughtless replies continued. In addition, on 19 July, it was reported that a man who had made a death threat to Uesaka was arrested. It is assumed that the sudden closure of the social media accounts was greatly influenced by this incident and other harassments.
Right now, it is not clear how the new Twitter account will be run, but it is likely that it will be run by staff.
