Bonnie Neubauer is a late-bloomer who didn’t discover her creativity until she was in her mid-thirties. Now in her fifties (yikes!), her inventive energy enables her to continue to be a kid at heart, leaving creative sparks wherever she goes. In 1997, Bonnie met her husband-to-be, Gil,in a writing group. In 2000 they got married at the same Borders Books & Music store where they met. Don't worry if you aren't a writer, or even an aspiring writer. Exercises like the ones found in this book are terrific for helping you stay sharp and creative (and they're FUN!!). In addition to having some real substance to it, the book is a joy to read. The pages are very engaging and visually interesting. Not only that, you can visit the same page again and again and never do the same exercise twice, thanks to the author's innovative way of mixing things up and allowing you to "choose" your subject matter.

Meant not so much as a tangible project to muddle your way through, this book offers numerous opportunities to dip into your creative self, even if and when you suffer from writer's block, and the ten minute time limit practically eliminates any anxiety about "getting it done." Either you've summed things up, or you just got your creative juices happily rolling for bigger and better things. I suspect you could also use his exercises as a party game, in the right (write?) company! The exercises are brief, interesting enough that you'll WANT to see what you can craft from the proffered premises, and they're fairly lighthearted for the most part. The book is a winner! I've already recommended it to a good friend; she bought it and enjoys it just as much as (perhaps more than!) I do.

As for the seller, I received my book in excellent condition and it arrived BEFORE I was even expecting it. I am beyond pleased by the service I received (the price was super-nice, too!) and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from this seller again. For what it's worth, I also endorse that YOU go ahead and order, as well. ENJOY!!! :)

Who can resist a book that promises to build your creative momentum in only ten minutes a day? Not I, especially not after buying and using Bonnie's Write-Brain book. "Take Ten" is not as good. It is also shorter, only 210 pages. A thousand writing exercises in 210 pages? How does she do it? By writing 100 set-ups/situations, each of which has 10 possible outcomes. Do the math: 100x10=1000. The set-ups are on the odd-numbered pages and the 10 ways to run with them on the even-numbered pages. It's a real page-turner, all right. But get a good look at a sampling of both sides before you buy.
Oh, the extra ten pages are the introduction.

I was looking at this book at Barnes and Noble and I knew that I could get it cheaper online. I was right- it is of good quality and of course much cheaper.

I had "just ok" feelings about the content of the book. The pages were very colorful and attractive. There were instructions as to how the book should be used. I was excited to write a story with the help of this book because I wanted more creative ideas. The topics were just not the topics I was hoping for. They were more for the really imaginative out-of-this-world minds. I ended up just browsing the pages and not really using the sentence starters from the book.
