Spring Airlines gets nod for int'l business

Spring Airlines, one of China's four major private carriers, says it has gained approval to operate international routes. This makes it the second private firm allowed by the General Administration of Civil Aviation to explore the international market.

Spring Airlines will be able to run short-distance routes linking the Chinese mainland with the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions, as well as neighboring countries, such as Japan, South Korea and Russia.
