We just adore when couples make their weddings a reflection of them, their relationship, and their family heritage. And these college sweethearts? They did just that and it was a day to be remembered! I love this little glimpse into the day from Taylor and Ben Photography. These two had friends and family fly in from all over the world to celebrate their DC nuptials, and they certainly gave them a good time! From serving hints of Spanish cuisine and libations to providing some traditional entertainment of folklore dancing to keeping with European tradition and dancing the night away until midnight, the entire wedding looked to be a blast! Congrats you two!
From the photographer...
Jessica & Alex had a beautiful Spring wedding right across the Potomac River in a Arlington, VA. The Key Bridge Marriott was the perfect choice that gave them magnificent night views of Washington DC as well as the traditional elegance of a hotel wedding. The Marriott's color scheme also complimented their wedding colors: royal blue and yellow.
This fun couple enjoyed their big day in company of nearly 200 guests that came from Spain, Switzerland, Mexico City and various locations within the United States. The evening was full of cultural elements to celebrate Jessica's Spanish heritage, from jamon serrano (dry-cured Spanish ham) and Spanish wine for the cocktail hour to a folkloric dance called "muñeira" that was wonderfully executed by a group of girls of Spanish origin, daughters of some close friends. In European tradition, Jessica & Alex danced the night away along with their family until midnight.
They met at JMU. Alex proposed at Bartholdi Park (where we took pictures on the wedding day).
