Kittens rescued after being found in Daytona Beach trash pile

A Daytona Beach couple has rescued four kittens that were dumped with garbage on Monday.

The 3-week-old kittens were found in a box that was left out with a pile of trash on North Halifax Avenue.

Garbage men found the box, which was taped up and had holes poked in it, inside a trash bin. The men removed the box and set it aside.

A couple that lives nearby then took the kittens to ARNI Foundation animal shelter in Dayton Beach.

"It's very disturbing that somebody would do something like that. Just throw them away? Just throw them away. Innocent babies just put them in the trash like nothing, like they were garbage, said Moe Scheeren, of the ARNI Foundation.
