Drake Brings Out The Weeknd, Tory Lanez, & Cardi B at OVO Fest

Drake brought star power surprises to his hometown for the 8th annual OVO Fest, which took place Monday (Aug. 7) at the Budweiser Stage in Toronto.

Following openers PARTYNEXTDOOR, dvsn, Roy Woods, and Majid Jordan, the 6 God took over with a high-energy set that included cameos from The Weeknd, Cardi B, Migos, Travis Scott, and Tory Lanez, among others.

The Starboy landed on Drizzy’s stage, which was modeled to look like T-Dot’s CN Tower, for a rendition of “Crew Love.” After squashing their feud, Tory was another one of the night’s biggest shockers. He joined Drizzy for a joint performance of “Controlla.”

“We had problems with each other, but we had never even met each other,” Drake admitted. “I met the man and he’s a great guy!”

But OVO Fest wasn’t exclusively about Toronto. In fact, New York’s Cardi B came through to rock her blazing single “Bodak Yellow.” Keeping the Hot 100 fun on stage, French Montana and Swae Lee delivered their top 3 hit “Unforgettable” and Playboi Carti milly rocked to “Magnolia.”

To finish off the festivities, Drake confirmed that he was “working on this new album in Toronto.” He added: “I will see you next year. Maybe bigger, maybe better. I go by the name of Drake. It’s an OVO Sound ting for life.”
