IUAV University of Venice
Venice, Italy

The IUAV University of Venice Faculty of Architecture is considered “the school of architecture” par excellence in Italy. The faculty offers one three-year undergraduate degree program in architecture and one two-year graduate degree program in architecture with 3 tracks: urban design, conservation and building technology, landscape architecture and sustainable design.

The programs combine theory and criticism (history of architecture and urban planning, restoration theory, aesthetics, architectural theory) with technical and practical training (construction, conservation, restoration, construction site management, building systems, technology for sustainability, mobility, infrastructures...). Skills are taught in variety of ways: seminar, lecture and studio courses, intensive workshops, internships, travel–study and international opportunities. IUAV's strength lies in its integrated studios, which provide an interdisciplinary approach to every project, and in its summer architecture workshops: three intensive weeks of design led by the some of the best architects in Italy and abroad.
