On 'Locked Out Of Heaven', the lead single for his latest album Unorthodox Jukebox, Bruno Mars embraced the song's comparisons to classic Sting, even performing the track with him at the Grammys earlier this year. For his latest number, he's once again worn his influences on his sleeve; this time taking notes from the inimitable Michael Jackson.
"I know that you don't know it but you're fine, so fine," he insists over '80s smooth funk guitars and retro-styled disco beats, before declaring his woman his "treasure" and "golden star" with a sense of unabashed affection. The result sounds like a modern day 'Rock With You'; a feat that few could get away with pulling off so authentically.
