Who'll top this week's ARIA Charts?

November 2, 2016

Contenders include Avenged Sevenfold, Empire Of The Sun, James Arthur and more.

There was no change at the top of last week’s ARIA Charts with Jessica Mauboy scoring a second week at #1 on the Albums Chart with The Secret Daughter (Songs From The Original TV Series) and James Arthur notching up his third week at #1 on the Singles Chart with ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’.

Who are the likely debutants and movers on this week’s ARIA Charts?

Let’s look at some of the contenders.

ALBUMs

American metal band Avenged Sevenfold will be aiming for a third top ten on the Albums Chart with The Stage; Australian electronic duo Empire Of The Sun return with third album Two Vines; with ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ sitting at #1 on the Singles Chart, James Arthur will be hoping for a high debut with his second album Back From The Edge; highlights from the entire career of the legendary Roy Orbison have been brought together for the first time for The Ultimate Collection; thrash metal veterans Testament could make their top 50 debut with eleventh album Brotherhood Of The Snake; Tove Lo could pick up a new Albums Chart peak with Lady Wood; American country artist Kenny Chesney could chart in the top 50 for a fourth time with Cosmic Hallelujah; Adelaide rapper Tkay Maidza could chart with her debut album TKAY; Melbourne band Superheist reunite for their first album since 2004, Ghosts Of The Social Dead.

Look out for moves up the chart from John Farnham’s Whispering Jack (on the back of the release of The Complete Whispering Jack 30th Anniversary), Delta Goodrem’s Wings Of The Wild, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds’ Skeleton Tree and Drake’s Views.

Singles

Guy Sebastian could make his first top appearance for 2016 with ‘Set In Stone’; Sydney’s Starley could make her Singles Chart debut with ‘Call On Me’; Norwegian electronic musician Cashmere Cat could make his top 50 debut with ‘Trust Nobody’.

Singles that could make a move up the Singles Chart this week include Drake’s ‘Fake Love’, Martin Garrix & Bebe Rexha’s ‘In The Name Of Love’ and Shawn Mendes ‘Treat You Better’.

The weekly ARIA Charts announcement happens every Saturday at 6pm.
