Hiking the shoreline a while back, I picked up the above lure. It appears to be a spinner bait like a Panther Martin, but there are NO markings on it what-so-ever. It’s possible someone made this from a spinner bait kit.
The fish head is made of some type of composite material and the eyes are glued on. Anyone know what this is?
I had to beach my boat to wait out big wind gusts a few weeks back. walking along the gravel shoreline I found the following lure, or what remained of it at least. The lip and hooks were all rusted away. I could see faint red paint under the nose.
Some investigation revealed it to be a Heddon River Runt Spook Sinker in silver shore minnow color. Here’s what it looked like new: http://www.tacklecollecting.com/images/RRxrsNEW.jpg and here is how the hooks and lip arrangement would have looked: http://www.tacklecollecting.com/images/LateRRwHooks.gif
This particular model was made from 1963 to 1976 making it 35 years young at least!
