Self-organizing, coordinating and documenting civil society organizations’ contributions towards the implementation, follow up and monitoring of Sustainable development in Tanzania.

Contributing towards the development of nationally appropriate innovations and solutions for effective joint implementation, follow-up and monitoring, reviews and reporting of the global, regional and national development agendas.

Create a reliable and trusted platform for government institutions, United Nations, development partners and other stakeholders to engage with civil society organizations on implementation, monitoring, accountability and financing of sustainable development in Tanzania

Promotion of domestication of Agenda 2030 and Sustainable Development Goals in Tanzania through national dialogues, capacity building workshops (targeting regional hubs/ platforms, media houses, local government authorities and policy makers) and 360 degrees’ communication campaign in Swahili using FYDPII as the main vehicle.

Facilitation of knowledge sharing, experiences best practices and innovations among civil society organizations and other actors engaging in sustainable development implementation in Tanzania

Producing annual joint civil society implementation reports, and national shadow reports on sustainable development implementation in Tanzania.

Contributing towards data revolution for Sustainable Development in Tanzania, and offer nationally appropriate innovations for non-traditional data capturing, processing, analysis (including publicly accessible dashboards), and promote data usage (data action) on FYDP II and in line with Agenda 2030 and Agenda 2063.

Lobbying and hold accountable the central government, local government authorities, national parliament, and private sector for their commitments, policy, institutional arrangements, and resources allocation towards the implementation, follow-up and monitoring of the 2030 Agenda and Agenda 2063 through the Five Years Development Plan II (FYDP II).

Tanzania civil society organizations are change agents in the implementation, and accountability of sustainable development projects.

MISSION

To self-organize and coordinate civil society organizations’ contributions towards the implementation, and follow up and review of Agenda 2030 and Agenda 2063 in line with Tanzania’s Vision 2025.

MEMBERSHIP

The platform is an open platform to civil society organizations, citizens’ movements and non-governmental organizations engaging in sustainable development work in Tanzania and subscribing to the vision, mission, objectives and values of the platform. Clear efforts are underway and put we are committed to ensure that the national civil society platform on sustainable development is as inclusive as possible by involving all civil society constituencies, the marginalized groups, the furthest, and the poorest of the poor.

The platform is also open to other stakeholders such as government, local government authorities, the national parliament, United Nations, private sector, media, development partners, think tanks, academia and other stakeholders through structured engagements.
